Tory: Low speed broadband for the majority of the country is a matter of glorious capitalist free choice, and we should all be afraid of Labour's crazed communist schemes!

Interviewer: You Tories keep deriding Labour's policies as 'extreme-left' and 'communist', yet if we look at the rest of the world, stuff like public not-for-profit ownership of railways, the water supply, broadband infrastructure, and energy distribution is absolutely commonplace and unquestionably successful in clearly non-communist countries like France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Uruguay, South Korea, Sweden, Singapore, and even the United States. Why do you insist on continually spreading these hyperbolic exaggerations about public ownership?

Tory: Labour communism ... Jeremy Corbyn is much like Stalin ... Reds Under the Bed!!!

Interviewer: Several high profile Brexit Party politicians have stated that they were offered lifetime peerages in the unelected House of Lords in return for standing down to help the Tories in the general election. This kind of bribery is a criminal offence. What do you have to say about it?

Tory: Jeremy Corbyn is craving the chance to turn our beloved House of Lords into a communist collective. We mustn't let him!

Interviewer: Michael Gove has claimed that EU rules prevent the UK from planting trees. Even the most hardened EU-sceptics admit that this is an absolutely ludicrous lie. Why do you think it's acceptable for high profile Tories to lie like this?

Tory: Under Jeremy Corbyn trees would be communist. Do you want communist trees? Do you???

Interviewer: The Financial Times has exposed the fact that in over two years since the Grenfell fire, the government fund for removing flammable cladding has only paid for one solitary building to be made safe, meanwhile another residential building in Bolton has been engulfed in flames. What do you have to say to the hundreds of thousands of people living in dangerous fire trap buildings?

Tory: Communism ... furgle burgle ... Communism!!!

Interviewer: Former junk bond trader Sajid Javid is pumping out the most ludicrous made-up numbers to try and discredit Labour policies, and he's running scared of a live debate with Labour Chancellor John McDonnell. How can you claim to have any economic credibility with this cowardly charlatan as your economics minister?

Tory: I feel it's time to return to the important and rarely mentioned subject of what a terrible communist, Maoist, Stalinist, Trotskyist, Marxist, Leninist, far-left extremist Jeremy Corbyn is ...

Interviewer: Boris Johnson is still refusing to release the intelligence committee's report into Russian interference in UK politics. Surely if there's nothing damning in the report, he should just release it?

Tory: Commie Corbyn would even nationalise your cat! No exaggeration. Commie cats! Can you believe it?

Interviewer: Why are you answering every question I ask with hyperbolic nonsense about 'communism' instead of just answering the question?

Tory: This is exactly the kind of free-speech crushing communism we should come to expect under commie Corbyn. This question is the moral equivalent of the persecution of the Kulaks ...

People, in the UK, and especially in the USA, are encouraged, by right wing politicians, to see Socialism as the same as Communism. Once the people are convinced, it absolves those politicians of doing anything to represent the vast majority of the population. They aren't the same. Not even close. Capitalism exists within Socialism. Capitalism should not exist within Communism, but [allegedly] does illegally. Putin, loves it, I've no doubt.
Incidentally, Trump adores Communism. Especially the Russian kind. He's not so keen on China though.

I don't mind them fiddling the figures in that way. It probably reduces the fear of Corbyn factor. If it lulls Tories into a false sense of security that's fine by me. I will be happy to get a nice surprise on December 12 at 10pm. As it is I will settle for Labour winning anything close to their 2017 tally.

In general, any time you see someone say "I've unskewed the polls!", it can be dismissed out of hand.
 
I was talking to a young guy, earlier, who works for BBC Newsbeat.
I didn’t know what that was, but he explained that it is a service aimed at 18-30 year olds.
I gave him a quote for his next show, but I doubt he will use it, as it was unsolicited. I told him to “encourage the young to get out and vote at the General Election, to save the country, as us old bastards (a generalisation as I know that many of us voted Remain) had ruined it by voting leave at the EU referendum”.
If anyone wants to get involved with giving their political point of view, the BBC will be out in numbers, in Southampton, Tuesday 19th.

Let us all hope so for the sake of our children and grandchildren. Brexit isn't shooting yourself in the foot it is shooting yourself in both feet and chopping of your hands. Our children deserve better than a government led by this bunch of lying, self seeking, Tory spoiled boy scoundrels

The Tory voters I know (mostly family and their equally greedy friends) are not bright enough to know what voting tactically means. They are mostly arrogant, overweight, have large pensions, still take the winter fuel payment, drive bloody big cars and just assume that because the NHS has always been there for them, it always will be. Run to the doctor's every time they fart twice in a minute or get a cold. They also have more important things to worry about, such as their golf handicap.

How can a Tory voter vote tactically? There is no advantage to him/her by electing a Lib Dem or a Labour MP. I suppose they could vote Brexit. I would support that wholeheartedly.

On the subject of polling I think that this election poses rather more problems for the pollsters than ever before. There is some truth in the argument I heard recently that this isn't so much a General Election as 650 individual elections. Sone constituencies e.g. Southampton Itchen are very straightforward with a tiny Tory majority and a straight fight. My guess is that we are going to see many three way marginals in other areas. Then we have seats like those contested by Grieve and Gauke, safe Tory but how many Remain voters will support the rebel and potentially let in another party.Its fascinating.

I imagine all the Tories in Hornsey and Wood Green will be voting LibDem, as the Blue Meanies themselves have no chance.

Kensington will be an interesting London seat. The Tories really ought to walk it, as it’s probably the most affluent constituency in the country, but the new hard right Brexaggedon Max Tories alienated enough of their supporters to ensure they lost the seat to Labour in 2017, and now all three major parties are apparently neck and neck.

There are only four Lib Dem target seats that are held by Labour that might have a serious chance of changing hands. The fifth closest is Burnley that requires 16% swing. Conversely there are thirty Tory held seats that look vulnerable.
