My suspicion is that Barnsley knew this was a long term condition and not just a temporary blip. I do feel for Angus, he has never had it easy with health and football. He was told that he did not have a career in the game when he was a Reading Academy player after he was out of action for a few months with a blood clot.
I think that the whole transfer system needs to be addressed. Players having a medical on deadline day would not happen in any other industry that relies on fitness. Maybe a similar certification system to the one commercial pilots have.
