I went to Thomas St, from 48 to 54 , Mr Price was the head master, I started school a week late and was put on a desk with Dave Hopper. Moved up to Redhouse in 52. I had forgot about Shems until you mentioned it and further remembered Gordons ( newsagent ), Detta Smiths (fish and chips) Millers (Butcher) and most of all old Mr Jamiesons (second hand shop the mecca of American Comics ). Seemed like there was more shops and pubs than houses back then.

Me too. Like I said last night going to the match is still the big thing I struggle with after losing my dad. I wasn’t sure if I was going today then one of me mates rang, said she’d come and rallied me. I’m so glad she did, it was a lovely afternoon to watch football and see my team pick up 3 points.

 

Was great back in the days pre message boards. Safc won, no matter how was celebrated and moaning stopped until they actually lost a game
