Has anything been hinted at on the infrastructure side? I read in Charlie’s interview I think, there’d be an announcement in the coming weeks, that would be linked to infrastructure and match day experience (paraphrasing)

Could it be changing the club shop into a boozer? Or swapping the club shop and ticket office over.

Cheers

Footbridge maybe?

I can imagine mag fans chortling at our comparative small investment but imo the important thing was getting the yanks involved. They are now involved and we have to hope our results improve and we get under their skin.
If we do, who knows what the future holds ?
This totally. the EFL trophy was poo pooed by a lot but get to Wembley again and get those boys there they would love it, then bomb on to promotion

It's worthh noting we all got ahead of ourselves hoping for a 'takeover'.
I'm assuming it was all about investment
He can't help himself! Dug himself into such a big anti-SD/CM hole, that he now has to keep digging by complaining and making an issue out of nothing in that CM interview today. He won't accept that SD/CM have had to cut costs (including the scouting) to make us investable. He'd rather SD spent all his cash making big losses to get us into the Championship then with no investors willing to buy into a big-loss-making club what would happen? Straight back down to L1 and skint and no investors? Great logic Chris :emoticon-0137-clapp
He's a reet boring c**t, thinks cos he can add up his postings mean something.
Imo he's always having thinly disguised digs at the club and owners in particular.
If I didn't know better i'd think he's got an agenda from the past.

So after months of speculation, conjecture and nay saying we finally have the confirmation of the American's "investment". A considerable sum of money that should boost our chances of promotion with some wise acquisitions in January. I am of the opinion that this is not a one off "loan" as some have said. The Americans have access to the best lawyers and accountants in the world and believe the "investment" is to somehow circumvent ffp and that they will eventually "takeover" the club when the time is circumspect. These people do not really deal in such relatively small amounts of money for the even smaller amount of interest they would gain from a "loan". Anyways up it's great news for us and proves everything Reiver/Smug said was not wild fantasy he dreamt up to get attention as some would have us believe. Thanks for all the info mate.

Pretty happy with all this me, and my son has made a good point to me tonight before he went out on the hoy. As he says, these lads putting in £10m or whatever the sum is , while significant for us, is nothing to them really. But, what is something is that these people, who are serial winners and serious people have now effectively put their names to this club.

My lad is right. They can lose that amount of money and barely notice. But they won't want their names attached to a failure.

Exactly failure attached to their name is worse than money.

They have that much money that it doesn't matter but their reputation means a hell of a lot!

One of the best posts I've seen on here mate.

I don't want attention mate, just love the club and the supporters I spend my days with.

It may already have been said, but has anything been mentioned regarding the O'Brien rumour he was involved? I'm a content man tonight knowing our future looks good. It may not be the big takeover special thought, but these blokes do not get involved to gain interest on a loan to a division 1 club. Don't let anyone tell you different, as it makes no sense at all. Cheers smug in boots and all the others who have given snippets, either through smug, or themselves.
It's been emotional, and at times i have had to keep away from the forums as it was getting daft, but it's here. The start is done :emoticon-0178-rock:<party>

I posted similar to this on RTG but these lads have invested this money into the infrastructure of the club. It's a no lose for them. IF SD and co bugger up, and they takeover because of that, then they have already put the plans in place to build foundations. IF SD and co get us up, then i can see them going the next step knowing they already put in place the first building block.
Billionaires as powerful as these lads do not spend months on talks and DD to gain some interest on a loan to a Division 1 club. That's a fact

Exactly mate, soild foundations to build from, not built on sand desperate for someone to put their hand in their pocket.

****, all excited about the potential now

Good post mate, you're right that this is a long term project and not just a Wonga Loan.

We have some mega serious players behind us now. They may not be shareholders just yet, but with Methan saying certain parts of the investment will remain confidential, i'd pretty much guess that it will be written in their favour if Donald does not deliver. If he delivers or not, they will know their initial investment will be going on building the foundations for the club, which they would want if they took over in the future anyway. Not many if any Bar city would turn their noses up from been linked with these blokes. They have not spent months of talks and DD just to lend some money to make a few bob on the interest. Anyone who thinks they have are deluded. If it was a smaller group than maybe, but certainly not these lads. The future is bright, and i'm content drinking a drop of red wine tonight knowing the ball is rolling

Taken from a lad on rtg I think it's a cracking post

Donald and co want to stay. we all know that, and i don't blame him wanting to. He wants to make this happen, and that in itself will lead to a few quid more, which he will be entitled to if it works. They asked for further investment, with a view to them taking over when it got too big for them to back (IE promoted to Championship with a view on a promotion push-SD got scared off the figures needed for the push. Not a dig at him at all.Just judging his comments previously)

My guess/opinion is the new lads have said IF you want to stay on, then you use your money on transfers .That way if they mess up it's on their own head) We will invest in the foundations of the club for the future (Which is exactly what was mentioned from the start, and also if it goes tits up for SD and co, then their money will not be classed as wasted.

Apologies if that's hard to read to people. I'm not a novelist writer, just a SAFC fan trying to get his thoughts across. If i could write in crayon it would be easier :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I think this is exactly what we need ..the Americans know nothing about this sport and need UK based people who they can trust to manage whatever plan they want to set. Short never had people on his side , they just took the piss with his money . I also think SD/CM are genuinely wanting to run a football club at the highest level . They know through experience how hard it is to get from the lower leagues and wanted / needed us as a better platform . Maybe the due diligence was all about them and their capabilities who knows..

I posted a link to stewart donalds last podcast from RR on here today. If you listen to it between 48 minutes 30 seconds onwards he talks about how they've found the preferred partners to invest in the club he goes on to say that he wants these guys to invest and take the club to the next level

All this talk of a full takeover was mainly the papers talking not stewart donald, everything he said in that podcast has turned out true

Aye he always seemed ultra confident to me that something was lined up. I assumed it was Satori or someone he knew, as Donald mentioned he knew big players. Then when the Dell boys got mentioned i was genuinely shocked. Now it seems Satori is still interested as well again. Possibly because he sees the potential under these lads, but you can't have enough people ready to invest in your club, so let them fight it out, and get us back where we belong

Now that the uncertainty has been put to bed about the Americans it is time to get this promotion charge heading in the right direction.
Let's get the whole club and supporters pulling in the same direction to give us a better chance of going up.
After all it's what we all want.

Had the opportunity to go to the talk-in tonight with CM and KB in Sunderland but can’t make it at short notice. Gutted...

Probably not far off the mark mate. If you at what Mr Donald said at the supporters do a few weeks back.

Everyone at the club needs to deliver now. Exciting times ahead.
