Cheers mate, I have to say it's been quite overwhelming how many people have come forward with similar posts. I thought I was posting to a handful of the last few clinging on and believing me. Even people I've previously trusted, here and elsewhere, turned against me. But I've now had dozens of posts, and pm's, from people saying they've been kept going by my posts. Despite the relentless negativity, and personal attacks, there was never a moment when I considered giving in to the sad bunch of losers who seem to wallow in their own pit of bile. The ones who created usernames on here, but only ever pm'd me, to continue their sniping are actually to be pitied. One of them came on here solely to attack me, was banned then created another account to come back and continue. No doubt weirdos like these will always believe they're justified so it's pointless arguing with them. They'll now turn their attention to pulling this deal to pieces, claiming Short is still in control, SD & CM are syphoning millions out of the club and that the Americans have all run off with pole dancers.

Anyway, that's all I have to say on that ....

.... the decent people have better things to think about such as looking forward to an actual football match.

I think it would do us good to take a break from all the speculation, investigative journalism and hack accounting.

Haway the Lads!!!

Good lad Smug. I've been an occasional, migrant lurker here for a few weeks, not having much time to join or post and so on. But I did notice the hammer you were taking here, (and in another place!), though this concept in itself is wildly bizarre to me anyway, it's not as if we were all in a big pub! But these guys are now involved, and if they were ever going to be I'd assumed it would always be in this type of understated manner. They would be mad to just put their money and their names to something like this and not have a forward plan. And they won't be mad.

Sticking to your guns is usually worth doing. It's that pit village up bringing! I benefited from it myself.

Aye and it shouldn't take him having to pump money into the club for people to stop giving him crap. What a bunch of babies football fans can be. Embarrassing.

I hope that now the investment has gone through he'll feel welcome again at the games but like I say it shouldn't have taken that. Can't help but feel like the relationship is soured for good now.

If what Methven says is true, and I believe it is, the guys running the club don't deserve a scrap of the criticism they've been taking.
Mainly true but "the scrap" that they do deserve is for the shambles of recruitment for both full back positions over the Summer. That apart I'm happy enough with them

It won't be just a loan. They could have walked down the street and got one from the bank ffs.

They might have terms of repayment in case of certain circumstances but I doubt they'll be paying them back in monthly installments plus interest. There's something else been agreed. Neither business group are stupid, even if they play in different leagues (£ vs $$$$$). It took months to sort out, no way is it a loan.

The BBC are suggesting that it's a £10mil 'investment.

Useful, better than a bash in the teeth with a blunt shovel, but not a takeover.

Perhaps there's more (information or better still, investment) to come.

From their perspective it makes sense and if arranged like their investment in the Marlins its win win.
They get access to the club and see how it runs and how it could be run
At the end of a period they can take their money out if they want and ( like at marlins ) they get a nice interest payment. I'm sure they will have the ability to either invest further or takeover so why not.
No one should doubt that ( if it is 10m ) that is a monster amount in this league.
Now we need to do it on the pitch
Contrary to the views of many we still have a strong squad ( albeit tainted by ross negativity). A loan or 2 or a cheapo at xmas and there is no reason we cant make play offs. Results may not be as we wanted but our style of play has improved immeasurably under PP.
Onwards and upwards

That's true, I can understand them struggling to get quality but we needed numbers in at full back and didn't manage it. Any bugger would have done.

Well the skunks up the road have been called
Newcastle United football company
For many years now
Madrox owns Sunderland which owns Sunderland Association Football Club. SAFC have sold £9m shares to Sunderland, and Sunderland have sold £9m shares to Madrox. It was just me being a little pedantic but it's quite an important distinction that Madrox aren't (yet) showing a capital injection, which means it's some sort of a loan into Madrox for now. I'm not being negative - it's a fantastic start and it will hopefully get converted to capital later down the line so that there is no debt in the club's holding company.
