They're, mate. Labour will lose seats there for the first time ever, I suspect. Anybody who has a whiff of interest in politics should jump in because there's no greater time to break through. People are looking for change from Labour so the person appealing most to the masses will come out with a new cracking little job.
This guy got voted in as a councillor. That's how much they hate Labour now https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/man-drives-truck-jarrow-firm-1397453
David Cameron described the referendum as 'The Peoples Vote' in 2016. 17 million 'people' voted to leave, but it was proven to not be the peoples vote, as the process has been held up by 650 odd muppets in a building in London.
In my area I don’t know who’s running for which party, saying I’m all for brexit and I shall be taking a good look at the brexit party candidate.
Not a fan of Corbyn and certain members of his shadow cabinet, but still a hundred times better option than the current rabble..
Detest the Tory Party, greedy, exploitative pigs, who fought tooth and nail to stop the abolition of slavery, the working classes having any vote, the minimum wage and of course introduced zero hours contracts, which they tell us is good for us, while raking in their ill gotten gains. A rich privileged elite born to divide and rule the ignorant peasants whom they despise. Having created this mess, they are already trying to blame anyone but themselves, first the EU and now all of the opposition parties, it stinks. I'm voting Green by the way, not that it will make any difference, other than making me feel better.
It may be all partisan voting again, methinks, but I hope people will start to actually listen to what each party offers and then hold them to account if that party enters office. What short memories we have of labour’s last stint in No10! I voted labor under Tony Blier, where there was a groundswell of good feeling and support. With the likes of Diane Abbot, (WTF) John, Trotsky, McDonnell, Laura piddocks ( brainwashed from birth) and of course Mr (pushed to the front from the Momentum shadows) Corbyn, what could possibly go wrong with them in control? Add in the SNP, threatening anyone whom stands against them, will have Putin giggling to himself at the division in our society. Who else? Brexit party...... complete unknown in Government, they could actually hand the keys to Corbyn Libel dimocrats.....nuff said Conservatives.........The only thing I can say is that he has absolutely nailed his intentions to the mast, we can only wait to see if the ship is the Ark Royal....or the titanic The greens: fantastic intentions, reality is there would be mass murder if they tried to change everything to their way of thinking as there are too many people entrenched in their own way of life. Reality?......we are all well and truly feked anyway, as the ice is melting far faster than ever predicted. Those that are left will be fighting for land around the mountains Scottish passport it is then
I remember doing a stadium tour of the Stadium of Light. The guide took us on a 360 degree tour of the ground and to every level. He took us down a staircase and hanging there was a banner of the miners. Which colliery I do not know. On that basis alone, that should deter any self-respecting supporter from voting Tory. Brexit party are a distraction and will fail to get any seats. As for the rest vote to keep out the Tory.
But time after time the citizens of The United Kingdom have shown a marked reluctance to support the political extremes. And however 'middle of the road' Jeremy tries to appear, his history and perceived anti Semitism is against him. Add to this that his shadow chancellor stands over his shoulder like a puppet master pulling the strings, and he will only command the left wing support of the extremists, the very people who put the rest of us off, and those who will vote Labour under all circumstances. And if what we are told is happening in South Tyneside is happening elsewhere in the Socialist Heartlands, then even this may not be what it was. Leading the Left Wing even such an honest person as Michael Foot couldn't dislodge someone as unpleasant as Maggie. Neither could the Mr Kinnock. But the apparent middle of the road Tony Blair got rid of the Tories and stayed in power for ten years. Surely that tells you something.
Would you really have preferred it had The Pit's stayed open? The way they closed may have been brutal and callous, but as places to work they must have been hell on earth. Their time was coming to an end in any case as we, slowly, try to recover the Planet from the effects of burning fossil fuels. The pit closures also meant an end to queues of people at pit gates waiting for news as yet another pit disaster unraveled. And while it's easy to sympathise with those who remember the comradeship amongst the miners, I remember how my late father in law used to cough his gut up with the dust in his lungs that carried him off not long after he retired. And I've never yet heard any woman say that her ambition for her son was to see him go down the pit. Following the pit closures there are many people in this area who are going to live much longer and healthier lives. It's just possible that future historians will look at the Pit Closures and see Maggie, not as The Wicked Witch but as The Good Fairy. And with that ironic thought I'll close for today.
I agree the pits needed to close to reduce carbon emissions. However, at that time we had no alternative and the coal was being imported that created an even bigger carbon footprint..
Ummm, zero hour contracts have been around for decades, we are in Europe and both labour and tories have been in power. If you were to watch Simon Reeves documentary about the Med, you will see where European countries, such as Spain, don’t give a flying f*ck about workers rights. Blatantly and openly hiring illegal immigrants on their farms, where workers regularly die in atrocious working conditions. The people of the UK all stood together to fight fascism, which is again rife in many parts of Europe. There is more in this country that unites us than divides us, but politicking is a way of trying to drive wedges in societies. One thing is for sure this country is where many still wish to come, they are lining the shores of France wanting to get here, which doesn’t say a lot for France does it. Oh and finally, how many European countries are on the brink of ruin..... because of the piss poor management and policies of the EU.....have a chat with the people of Greece, Italy and Portugal.
I work for my own personal services company and effectively have zero hour contracts with my clients. If there is no more work I have to look for a new client - I don't get paid for holidays or sick leave. I do have a good daily rate but the current Tory government seem hell bent on going after the little guy instead of big corporates. They are trying to force me (and many others) into a PAYE job that I don't really want. I love it - I can choose who I want to work for and for how long. I can work from home and as long as the work gets done the client is happy. As to the election, I don't trust any of them. If the politicians had any integrity they should have all stood down when they stitched up every single parliament brexit vote to score points over the opposition of even their own party, while totally ignoring the result of the referendum. Our local (Tory) MP has since defected to the Lib Dems and has done everything he could possibly do to go against his own party and the views of local residents (who voted to Leave) I'd like to see every single one of the current MPs sacked, not allowed to stand again and not given a single penny in compensation
I don’t think Labour have a cat in hell’s chance of being elected, and that’s coming from a lifelong Labour supporter.
Not so sure mate.. With Trump coming out against labour, it will hopefully get people behind the party.. Mind Corbyn has once again shot the party in the foot with his comments regarding Shamima Begum..
Life long labour supporter here as well mate in fact my whole family is but they’re not for me on this one or anytime as long as that terrorist supporting charlatan is leader
