Yes, It has been great so far. We won at Everton ,Wolves and drew with N.Castle but must not let it go to our heads! I say this after watching to days games (Sunday) and yes we will pick up points from the teams simler to to the ones I have stated. The others, MU. Tott; Chel, L.pool MC etc. think will kill us, but no matter, as long as we play good football and go down fighting. I think Chelsea were done to day by the Ref; two off side goals! Very bad luck! And poor old liverpool done the same way, by the Reff; again. Oh well onwards and upwards chaps! By the way Swords, I am off the tabs; to day, great!

There were a couple of dodgy off-side decisions in the Chelsea game, but Liverpool have nothing to complain about!! They were just brainless!!
You're right that we must keep our feet on the ground though...one game at a time and all that!!

The way Liverpool played today reminded me of how Wolves played yesterday and actually there were similarities between Spurs and our play yesterday, our game against Spurs will be a real test of just how far we've come

Maybe United have peaked too soon and we'll catch them on an off day...

That's one of my recurring fantasies as well Brix, my other is that I'll be there to see it!

I can hear all the requests to 'keep your feet on the ground' from players and fans alike but I am optimistic for the following reasons:

    1. We have a very good team as proven in the last two games. Can you name 10 sides that look better on paper? Seriously?

    2. Assuming warnock throws the FA cup tie, these guys have 33 more games to play. That's not much in modern day football. I'm sure there won't be issues with motivation. We did it for 46 games last season.

    3. We are not in Europe. Great chance for us to nick points off the ones that are, especially later in the season when fatigue really starts to set in for those with small squads.

    4. There is the Jan transfer window, and we have the resources to strengthen further.

I know it's baby steps right now and i'm not saying we'll finish in the top half.....we'll get the odd hammering for sure but really, I can smile at what's ahead.

Agree with all the comments on this thread really.
Like Peruvian Hoopster my mind's eye keeps getting drawn to the match at White Hart Lane on October 30th as a hell of a test with fascinating match-ups all over the pitch. I am far more sanguine at the prospect of Luke Young and Armand Traore dealing with Gareth Bale's and Kyle Walker's searing pace than Bradley Orr and Clint Hill but as superb as all our midfield were at Molineux, will they really get enough ball off the awesome Modric/Parker c-m axis?
Thanks to the amazing Mr Fernandes,my 9-2 tenner @ Ladbrokes on a top-half finish is not looking as unfoundedly mindlessly Walk53ish blindly optimistic as it did back on the 7th July when I laid it.
    Astounding times...Let's keep a steady-hand-on-the-tiller,feet-on-the-ground,level head,one game at a time,baby steps...keep it cool boys..

    real cool

...except on October 23rd WHEN WE FEROCIOUSLY THROW EVERY LAST DROP OF BLOOD + THE KITCHEN SINK AT THE SCUM! HOOPSER BESERKER TIME!

Possible Tactics for the CFC game 23/10/11:
    ---------------------------------------------------
The Icelandic historian and poet Snorri Sturluson (1179-1241) wrote the following description of berserkers -(aka Joey's boys)- in his Yslinga (WarOnChelScum) saga:

"Odin's - (Neil's )- men rushed forwards without armour - (shinguards & jockstraps) - were as mad as dogs or wolves - (Gazza) - bit their shields - (shorts) - and were as strong as bears (Neil Ruddock or Gavin Maguire) or wild oxen (Mark Dennis,JudeTheCat),and killed people (Cashley,JT,FatFrank,NandoTheMiss,StamfordTheLion) at a blow but neither fire or iron (JT's hairdresser) told upon them.
This was called berserkergang /'going berserk'. "

See also 'Trance','Battle Trance','Warp Spasm 5' and 'Going Postal'.
There's such a wealth of arcane knowledge out there on Wikipedia.Just hope Joey gets time between tweets and art galleries.

As the results this weekend show you can take nothing for granted in this League, and on their day any club could beat us if we are not on top form, a few even if we are at our best. So if you assume that we play as well as on Saturday every game against opposition as poor as Wolves, yeah no prob, but it ain't gonna happen mate. That said I am still optimistic that not only we will stay up but will get a couple of big wins on the way.
.....any suggestion of 'throwing' any game, FA Cup or otherwise, that even one fan has paid good money to see will go down very poorly with me and I suspect a few others on here.

Here's a cracking must watch for any R's fan Channel 4 documentary film of which the last part shows a pretty decent Spuds side getting systematically dismantled by the R's 4-1 (Holloway,Wilkins & Penrice2) on October 3rd 1992 in front of 19,845 at Loftus Road.

Erm, my fantasies seem to involve Kelly Brook, a damp kipper & half a pound of onions. I must stop eating cheese before I go to bed!
