I'm thinking this also, its the Sunderland way. A shining light at the end of the tunnel is a high speed train coming towards you. It does sound to me like they are desperately trying to get some sort of investment from somewhere, hoping to find "a good day to bury bad news". We lost the MD last week, nothing about a replacement either. Mind if the Americans were testing Donald he has failed miserably, in my humble of course

There's 4 things that I'm clinging on to that continues to give me hope mate:
    1) There has been absolutely nothing adverse, which has come from the American side
    2) Nixon previously announced that the deal was off. He was wrong then, and is probably wrong now
    3) The snippet from Smug that all was done and they were putting the finishing touches to the statement, followed by Methven's " imminent " remark.
    4) No news is good news, and the Americans can be quite happy to bide their time. Time is against Donald, not them. He needs investment sometime this season. They can afford to play the waiting game.

Until I hear its off, or a lesser deal is announced from official channels, I'll still live in hope

To counter that though (and I hope you're right!):

    1. I wouldn't expect to hear anything from them, they aren't likely to release a statement saying "we've ****ed it off", I imagine they'd just leave the table and we'd never hear from them again

    2. Nixon said the takeover was off, that might well be right. If this is now a loan or a really minor investment that doesn't make him wrong when he said the takeover (which is obviously what the very club fed RR were suggesting it was) is off

    3. I like smug, but to be honest after constantly thinking it's near and numerous dancing emoji blokes I'll take any info he hears with a pinch of salt; not that I think he's making it up, I just think his source might be more removed from the process than we think. Methven saying imminent is positive, but if it's just a loan they're taking a long time to release a bloody statement

    4. No news might be good news, or they might have gone and it might be bad news as Donald scrambles around trying to find another Mark Campbell to throw a few quid in the pot

This does sound a bit like knicker wetting, and I know it'll happen when and if it happens, but we've had months of this and have gone from thinking it might be a genuinely club transforming takeover to now it potentially being a loan, and even that taking forever to be announced. Just losing patience with the whole thing and feel like the lowering of expectations is just going to continue as the imminent thing becomes the next "takeover" in the list of things that sound promising and deliver **** all, much like the rest of the Donald and Methven reign

To be fair my knackers itch like **** all the time, and I've got random discolouration on me ballbag. Google suggests I'll live though so that's canny. I almost need a separate thread just for my balls at the minute!

You should rinse your Jacksons fully after applying soap. They are very sensitive.

    Back on topic
My only concern is 1) and 4), there's no reason for the American's to say anything if the deal is off, hence my worry is the club are scraping around for other investment.

Nixon has never got anything about this deal right so far. So why would he be right about this? If you throw enough mud some of its going to stick.

It's a bit like conspiracy theorists, if they believe them all and one turns out true it legitimises their other wild conspiracies.

No absolutely not. There's no way I'd pay some slag for a shag.
Unless a bloke is housebound or disabled in a way that makes them really unattractive they should never have to pay for sex.

I enjoy your posts GG. You really try to examine everything from all angles.
I, like a lot of people, have thought the same as you from time to time. The process has gone on and on for ages, and it's only natural that people look for reasons for it to fail.
I remember a 4 line post which originated on RTG from Blanco, or something like that, which came totally out of the blue, and mentioned that it was a loan initially, but the loan had strings attached (ie, the Americans get more of a stake in the club, if Donald cant afford to pay the loan off). Maybe it's the finer points of this, that is holding the process up. I wouldn't be against a loan, if this was the scenario.

In all seriousness I'm 26 and had bollock cancer last year. Your balls seems to be giving you some trouble... Got a squeaky new plastic one to fil the void. Nackers were swollen for a week and I was constipated but I suppose its better than keeling owa on a metro due to a rouge nut.

Oh and many people see your balls. From old to young, experienced to trainee they travelled far and wide to inspect my balls. Some even a lil schlong.

But aye gan to a doctor, it could be good news like syphilis or a blood clot.
