I want us to be competitive. Our owner owes us at least 20m and projected a profit of 5m this year. I've got as much right to say that when we get beaten off Shrewsbury and don't seem to be getting substantial investment of the kind we were led to believe in the summer as you have to bury your head in the sand and pretend this fella knows what he's doing. I've never questioned your right to say it, that's the difference.

feel free to show me whereby I have supported the current set up strongly. I do believe they have the best intentions but that doesn't mean I am enjoying it.
    Que sera sera for me

It is an agenda though mittens, innit! You've made exactly the same point about 15 times in the last month. Super dull at this point. If you analyse the times you post it certainly peaks when the general feeling is low. You jump on every possible opportunity to bang your anti SD drum. Just like that Chris the accountant bloke, really.

A loan from FPP is not "sort of investment" at all.

If they are not going to capitalise it, then it is simply a loan. Why would Donald agree to that as it would completely ruin us without success? He would be leveraging our future and balancing the books is the one thing he's tried to do right.

This is an open football forum and you have the right to contribute like everyone has dont think anyone is disputing this
The problem is you just keep repeating your self. I understand your issues with SD and how you perceive he is handling the club's finances
But your obsession with this is bordering on paranoia
You derail any discussions about the take over or Stewart Donald with the same arguments and you're anti SD agenda
We've heard you. It's not healthy
You're obviously a bright articulate fella. Please move on I'm sure you've got more to offer the board than this

Yeah I just get frustrated watching that today, and hearing the ****e from Methven during the week that indicates its investment-lite and don't get carried away.

Fact is, big clubs need big ambitions, and our current owners don't have them. I want them to sell up, because in case you hadn't noticed, we're still going to have them in charge by the looks of things.

That might be the case mate but he should still be the first striker picked. Grigg has had enough chances to prove himself and imo hasn't taken them. I would even be going to Kimpionka before Grigg now.

I had no problem with Donald etc last season when he bought grigg etc because we were spending decent amounts for a league 1 team but this season it’s been free transfers and constant distraction of takeover talks not to mention an unambitious managerial appointment and we seem a million miles away from promotion at the moment. I actually think this takeover/ investment will go a long way to deciding Stewart Donalds legacy one way or the other.

Also @Kittenmittons what do you do for a living? Judging purely on the way you talk with such authority on football finance you must be heavily involved in the administration of Barcelona or some other elite football operation. Or are you Chris the accountant? A fella with an aptitude for writing and a love of sunderland who has backed himself into a corner that he can't get out of anymore?

I most certainly have not backed myself into a corner ffs. The reaction from some people on here is mental, given what could happen to us if we don't get promotion and/or a change of ownership in the next 9 months.

I'm not Chris the accountant(for the millionth time), I won't say what I do but I have plenty of experience of running a business, getting external investment, and company accounts and interpreting them. My partner also works in Mergers and Acquisitions for a big 4 firm, so in a nutshell, I do know what I'm talking about, and I wouldn't be banging on about it if it wasn't potentially putting the club's future in jeopardy.

And you know what? I get why you're defensive about the club, and hope is still there for me too, but when Charlie spoke the way he did about the investment in midweek, I'll be honest, my heart sank and I realised there's a possibility that whatever it is, it's not going to resemble the type of new era that we are hoping for.

Did he not say that it was imminent?

Yeah but what is imminent? Investment that won't be used on the playing staff. It just doesn't make a single bit of sense given the financial rewards of the championship vs turmoil of being on the wrong side of promotion again.

Like I said, I'm keeping an open mind because we need this and I want it just as bad as all of you. But it needs to be more than he's hinting at, it really does. If we don't invest in January, it will be a really close run thing to get promoted automatically, and we're way further off the pace than last year realistically.
