Been watching some very entertaining MSL knock out games. Last nights LA Ath v LA Galaxy was very good. The Ath center forward gets fantastic goals...and misses a bunch.Reminded me of that center forward of PSG...….
Carlos Vela? Hapless at Arsenal, effective at Real Sociedad, and pretty useful for the Mexico national team ...not to be confused with Giovani Dos Santos, although I can see why people would
Vela doing very well now but the center forward I mentioned is Josef Martinez. Little fella. Loves scoring....and missing. But when he scores they are beauties.Ibrimavich was in the other team, possibly his last game for them. His team lost 5-3.
Prepare to be annoyed: Martinez said he was hoping we bid for him a couple of years back At a guess that's as far as the interest went, as Martinez was on loan to Atlanta from Torino at the time and that was also when Anton Walkes was on loan there, but I'm sure one of the Lunatic Fringe will be jumping on this...
There's something I really don't understand about Southampton: no matter who is managing them they never seem to get going until around the Christmas period, by which point they've probably sacked the bloke who was in charge at the start of the season. I thought Hasenhuttl was canny enough to keep the team ticking along this season, but instead they've put together some really poor results lately Of course, somehow it's going to be our fault isn't it?
...and I thought we had the honour of the biggest home defeat this season. Only one thing worse than a 12 minute red card......that would be a 15 sec dodgy penalty!!!!
"You want us to concede lots of goals tonight, boss?" "Nein!" "That is a lot. We'll see what we can do."
Well it seems America is getting into PL games. The programme "Premier League Soccer" starts at 8 am and go's on 'til 2-30 pm today, visiting some pubs/bars where the locals are decked out in their favourites colours. The Brighton v Everton games was,I thought, quite odd. No idea what was going to happen next, but nice to see Brighton win again.Glad it wasn't usagain! Didn't fancy City but the Burnley game looks interesting.
Come on, Smithy, you know what'll happen: we'll beat Saltypool tomorrow, only to get gubbed by Everton the following week
Feels completely wrong that Chelski have benefited from being 'punished'. It's just forced them to take advantage of their ludicrous loan policy. Next year: each team in the championship is required to have a Chelski loanee.
