Monday 21st October on BBC2 at 7pm If we are drawn away there will be a decent chance it will be chosen for a live TV game somewhere. Few quid for the kitty at least.
This could be an iconic monent in our history with various non league outfits through. We could all be fighting for tickets in tiny, never to be repeated, allocations. Alternatively we could have a massive away support threatening to outnumber us at the SOL. Whatever the case it could be some clubs 'cup final' and the chance to face the big boys on and off the pitch. My choice would be a non league club with a huge away allocation and a weekend by the coast. Hartlepool or Chichester possible?
I'd like Notts County away tbh. Big support for us from the East Midlands, easy trip from Sunderland and a win against the Magpies. Plus the inevitable appearance of sad Mags asking for a clout ... ... the perfect day out imo.
And a safc win to boot as is the case with Sunderland - concentrating on the cup when all we should be doing is fighting our way out of this league
Hoping we're last out of the hat as we'll get a bye to round 2 because of Bury dipping out. Our only guaranteed way of getting through on our current form.
Gateshead, hartlepool or Darlington at home please(they could do with the money) and i reckon 35,000-40,000 a record 1st round gate ?, not Peterboro, Oxford or Ipswich though. i bet another away draw happens.
Terrible draw imo. Low crowd, poor away support and little excitement ... ... away to Harrogate would've been better.
Would have quite liked to get one of the tiny little clubs. beaut day for them, likely pay there running costs for a year. Shame in its way.
