I believe thay will. Our record at Old Trafford is the best run of results any team has ever had on their own ground over a 5 year period in top flight history. I made that stat up but I guarantee that it's right. We are fantsatic at home as teams let us come at them. When you let United dictate the game, you generally lose.
Yeah i can't see City attacking us too much. Will be a case of breaking down a brick wall and being very clinical. Tevez has shown though that he can feed on scraps, one chance-one goal type of player. Evans NEEDS to keep his concentration.
Probably 2nd would be fair. No one is better than Messi. I know La Liga is poor but he is pissing all over it. He's overtaken Fat Ron as the best player I've ever seen and comfortably.
I personally don't call Messi a striker, But yeah no one is close to him. But Tevez has improved a great deal since he joined City. This has been aided by Silva, the two of them have a natural understanding. Silva has also been outstanding.
I was one of those who thought Silva would struggle in the Prem but i was wrong. The ball is glued to his foot. If they had an adventurous manager, I would be worried. Plenty of talent at Eastlands. Not being used correctly imo. Glad that's the case!
I was in the bookies the other day and this Man Yoo fan, with a broader cockney accent than my own I might say, said: "Nah, I aint ****in worried about Man Citeh. I mean, who the **** have they got in their squad that you would call world class? We will piss all over them next week... bla, blah, blahhhhh" I think that's what you call being "in denial". Not ****in worried? Are you kidding me?
They have class all over the park but no guidance. If fergie was their manager right now, the league table would be very different. Wouldn't say I fear them but they have lots of talent and with the best manager at the helm, they'd be tough to stop.
Yeah I thought(hoped) he'd struggle too. Unfortunately, it took about one game for me to realise he was the real deal. Saying that, I doubt he starts against us. Will probably be the big, tall, strong lads in Defensive midfield, and they will shut up shop. I honestly cannot see us not rising to the occasion.
We're at home and I never doubt us at OT because we are so consistent on our own ground. However, I fully expect Mancini to play into our hands by going defensive.
and they are only just learning to play together - once they get it together well watch out once they get rid of some of the lesser players they will have a squad of 25 internationals. As you say, it may take another change of manager before they explode but everyone including Man Utd should realise that they are going to be a serious threat
Thing with City is, Who even knows how many players who are there now are going to be next year? Continuity is key. IF they do keep their squad together though, and buy appropriate players, Not just expensive ones, then yes they are a major threat
and they can do it quicker than Chelsea did remember Chelsea went through Vialli, Hoddle and Ranieri eras before Jose came in and they won the double Man City going to challenging for the title in the next couple of seasons, especially if a player like Edin Dzecko works out big style
Honestly I am not worried about City as its inevitable and changing managers is a bad thing not a good thing. It will just mean more change when they need stability but I am struggling to see how they would meet the fair play rules coming in. There spending will have to be reduced now as well. The game against them will be interesting as well as a response is key. Man Utd have passion and the DNA of the club is very important. When Ferguson retires the philosophy has to stay the same. We are a team which creates talents and scouts them and this can not change. If it does Utd loses meaning. People keep talking about Evans but he won't start. Smalling or Brown will because they work better with Vidic.
The thing is though, Chelsea immediately stepped up and won the title once they got the investment. City have failed and now the FPP rules are coming. Those rules will make a difference for sure and ourselves and Arsenal will be laughing imo.
Ranieri was the first manager with Abromovich there, he spent over ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã100 million and signed the likes of Duff, Makele ,Crespo and Mutu, then was preceded by Mourinho. So it didn't take that long. Like I said City will be their own worst enemy, or best friend. The signing of Dzeko, if anything will force out the likes of Balotelli and Johnson. It is not as simple as throwing money at a team. Chelsea were fortunate to have a manager as top draw as Mourinho.
yes those financial rules might change everything for Citeh because they should not be able to pay everyone ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã200k a week Arsenal will be sitting pretty and UEFA have already cited them as a 'model club' interesting times ahead
It has been a interesting season. I wonder how things will pan out. We will have to fight this game and show character.
Indeed. It's amazing how when we talk football we now spend more time talking the business side. Shows how times are changing.
