yes those financial rules might change everything for Citeh because they should not be able to pay everyone £200k a week

Arsenal will be sitting pretty and UEFA have already cited them as a 'model club'

interesting times ahead

I'm no financial expert but from where I'm sat, United will be fine under those rules, whilst others will fall by the wayside. I'm not going to say that it's right or wrong but i reckon we will be more able to compete financially under FFP and am not about to complain as a result.

These next few months will be the MOST important for English Football ever.

So many ifs, and buts.
The future of all of the big teams depend on how they finish this season, and how they spend in the summer .

the ONLY real danger for Man Utd in the medium term would be if for some reason they failed to qualify for the UEFA CL. This would be disastrous financially speaking and probably mean that several top players would have to be sold.

Now, I know it probably seems unlikely that this will happen but the fact is that there will be 6 teams competing for 4 places - Arsenal, Chelsea, Citeh, Man Utd, Tottenham and Liverpool. It would only take a few things to go wrong throughout the season (last minute winners for the other top 6, missed penalties, injuries, suspensions and so on) and it could happen.

Other than that relatively remote possibility Man Utd are sitting pretty

Disagree about spending, there torres luiz signings was a blanket for a really awful financial set of results. They are in deep trouble as they are constantly making huge losses yet have no debts. Man Utd even with debt are run fine and make healthy profits. However, the Glazer way of doing things and not working with fans or telling us is very bad.

Salut Les Gars

Man Utd rely on top 4 and that is everything. If Utd fell out of this then the Glazers would have one option and that is to sell the club.

Agree completely here. Roman was making 1 last desperate splurge there and it may work out short term ( looks unlikely) but the days of big spending at Stamford Bridge are over now imo. It's done. Wenger said it would lead to more big spending but I can't see how that's possible. FFP is here and I like it.

Man Utd are being run fine even with debt. However, the money Utd get needs to be put back into the squad well at least some of it. I have no issue with the Glazers taking money out of the club as they are the owners. But some money has to be spent on the club etc. However, since the Ronaldo sell Ferguson has spent over 40m. The anti-glazers fans argument is that Utd have no money to spend due to the Glazers taking money but there is no real evidence for this. Some even say there is no way to grow as a club which is crazy. Of course the club can grow. 3rd world countries are developing so more people will spend money on Utd. And there will be new technological ways Utd can grow. The glazers built their own empire through hard work and they are not as stupid as some people want us to believe. They are very complicated quiet shred people but their intentions is to make a profit.

And the irony is, that Chelsea have wasted millions for years, but are now in desperate need of their biggest overhaul since Roman took ownership, and more than likely they can't.

Turns out Fergie was correct about their "ageing squad" after all.
Do you remeber the outcry from the chelsea team when he stated that?

Chelsea have major issues with their squad which is far too old. Nice on paper but getting weaker. Arsenal for me look like a side coming together more than any other side. Man Utd are rebuilding and I admit we should have a bit of patience. Eufa need to show that they are not joking. If teams don't meat the rules they should not enter and that would send a message.

I fancied Chelsea to retain their title this year. Not gonna lie. But when they started talking about their amazing youth and how they had all bases covered, I began to doubt it. Even if you think you are the best, you have to be prepared for failure. They weren't.

for Chelsea yes

not for Citeh though. They should make the CL for the first time and that will help their development. Next 3 years we will find out how far they can go

Yeah they should make the CL,
But my point is that if they don't, watch Mancini, Tevez and a few others go straight out the door, and they are back to square one.
If they finish 4th or above then they will attract the cream of the crop, including players and more than likely a better manager (Mourinho) and they are on course to win the league.

All stems to where they finish this year.
The patience of the big men (owners)/ players (Tevez) at City wil be tested beyond measure if they fail to finish at least fourth in may.

I expect them to though.

Yeah definately.
I honestly still wonder "what if Roman didn't sack Wilkins though".....?
