At first i didn't really see what happened.. Just noticedafter that he left his leg in a little late. I'm sure tempers are running high at the moment,..
We aren't the only team to pick up yellows and reds but the fact is that the number of bookings picked up by our players is very concerning and something that the manager should have dealt with a long time ago. And tempers running high......... won't win matches.
Hull fan in peace. The sending off happened right in front of me, but it happened so quickly, I didn't really see what happened. I watched it again when I got in and it was a stupid tackle, it could have had far worse consequences, but I would have expected it to have been a yellow. I thought Ben Haim was more likely to walk, he was shouting at the ref, trying to kick people and generally being a twat. I was disappointed with your lads, it was the most one sided game we've had at the KC for years, we should have been at least 3-0 up by half time(in fact we were 2-0 up, until the officials decided otherwise). Good for us though obviously, that first half performance was definitely our best of the season to date and the lads seem to be improving every week. There wasn't one thing I could point to as the problem with your performance, you just seemed to lack shape, ideas and any real quality(though I wouldn't be too upset if Hayden Mullins fancied a move to the KC). Good luck for the rest of the season.
Saints fan in peace. You need to be careful what you wish for guys. SC may not be the best manager in the country but who else would put up with the crap he has had to contend with? We at Southampton know from bitter experience that when you start chopping & changing the manager you are heading for disaster - as we did under that clown Ruper Lowe. It is still very early days to make grim predictions. As always happens, one or two teams at the bottom will surface near the top at the end of the season. And do not be so sure that there are a queue of good managers waiting to grap SC,s job, particularly with you recent unfortunate history.
I am sorry to see you guys struggling at the moment but I am sure it will all come good quite soon. Sacking Cotterill is not the answer as what you need is stability and in all honesty look at what he has had to cope with over the last couple of seasons and ask yourselves who is likely to want to manage Pompey who will be any better? Stick by your team and manager and I am sure it will come good for you. Good luck.
...only just discovered the joys of The Portsmouth News Sports on-line comments pages. We don't move too quickly on this Island !! Sad to say it makes Pompey606 look like a 'tea party' - full of life and bang up to date issues - AND hardly a Scumwum in site. What joy, I'm a convert..........
Glastronaut, having Southampton fans in your life to engage in lively discourse and banter / baiting is your reason for being. You'll get bored on the News site. Are you retreating because you are a bit fragile?
While it's nice to be in an atmosphere where you are discussing/debating with the like-minded I think open forums like this are just as valuable, especially from a banter point of view. Why not try to bolster the Pompey contingent on here by making this forum known to those on the News discussion pages [if it doesn't get you in to trouble that is]. To me, comparing open forums like this one to single team discussion sites is a bit like comparing the House of Commons to a Party Conference.
Are you serious Glastronaut? I still read them but don't go on there any more. There are about 20 or so of the most negative posters who just have schoolyard punchups and 4 Saints WUMs who may be 'comfortably richer than you' but are definitely 'more boring than anyone'. It's a "throat-cutting" experience. They've chased off all the interesting posters. But never mind - enjoy!
