A travesty, where was VAR when you needed it?
Maldini is easily the best defender of my lifetime (early 90's). Brilliant player for an incredible amount of time.
He destroyed West Germany when we beat them 2-0 in 1975 and then Revie never picked him again, the ****...probably wouldn't join in with his England bingo sessions....

He wasn't underrated back in the late 70's early 80's, I saw him play a few times for Hamburg when I was working out there. Him and Tony Woodcock were icons in Germany. Keegan got European footballer of the year 2 years running..
