Moving his business up here suggests he wants to stick around.
The abuse and accusations regarding him are ridiculous
I am embarrassed that alleged Safc fans do that.

    Has he ****.

He never once proclaimed himself as a ‘saviour’, the deal for the club and the way it was financed was open from day one, yet everyone got their fannies in a knot when the information we already knew was repeated several months the later.

Sartori was 100% genuine, his political progress and the opportunity for him to help the people of the very proud and humble country he’s from being more important than a 3rd tier club several thousand miles away is understandable.

Now, let’s not forget that these prospective new, business savvy and outrageously wealthy owners, well they weren’t looking a year ago.

If the club is a saleable and viable asset to a major, successful asset management business, that’s down to the people who have made the books at the club palatable.

It’s certainly not helped by folk hurling unfounded vitriol on social media, publicly, at a man who has grafted his bollocks off whilst at the helm of the club.

It’s winding me up now man.

People are taking their own thoughts on what the think Stu should have done and been, and then using it as a stick to bash him.

The fella stepped up. And for being open he’s getting pelters.

    It’s ****ing pathetic mate.

As far as I'm aware he's never said that.

What I can recall him saying (after selling his Insurance business) was that he'd be opening a BRANCH of his Leasing operation in Sunderland and then going on to say he was inviting job applications.

Somewhat different, I think, to your interpretation of the same information.

I agree. They're doing it without knowing any detail. When the facts come out, make a decision then.

Whey boys, 40 hour shift finished. Time for a cuppa and a snooze.

Don't listen to the media, just wait and be patient. If it happens it happens, if it doesn't... Well, I suppose I'll just have to keep supporting them cause having a billionaire owner doesn't change a thing for me.

Sunderland will always be my club regardless of owner, manager and monorail.

Let’s not forget, these potential new owners could buy Manchester United, comfortably.

The fact they are looking not only below that, but 2 leagues down at a club that was £160million in debt 16 months ago is mind boggling.

****ing well done Stu, heartfelt from me, 37 years a fan.

If Donald still owes the club at least £20m, more likely still at least £30m+ (based on his words, it's least that), I just can't see a deal getting done for less than £40m up front or offset vs his debt to the club over time. Whether that is paid via writing off Donald's debt or paying him to effectively then pay it back to the club, I think that's the only way possible without him losing a lot of money.

If he loses control, he also loses control of when that debt has to be paid. On top of that, he has found himself in the uncomfortable situation of fans being aware that it is his personal financial interest that is a potential problem. I think his only option left is to try and claw his way out of L1 without investment, in the hope that the club's value goes up enough to tempt an MSD style company to pay £5-10m over the odds, or accommodate his financial predicament.

My main concern is the club becoming collateral damage.

We are closer to the Man City owner’s wealth than the Man City owners are to Michael Dell.

Hahaha, we’ve been having this convo for years mate <laugh>

I know you are from the dark side, but sadly I can’t post in crayon here.

So, time is eternal, it never changes. There are 365 days in a year. I have been on earth 37 years (plus 4 months...) since 3rd June 1982.

I save my "vitriol" for forums which is were an alternative opinion to yours should be put. Please don't lambast me but so far I'm correct in what ive said and nothing has came to fruition of what he promised.

As for Sartori he must have knew what his political ambition was long before he came on board.

Look, as I said I'm not wanting to come across all jardine but all I see if a man well out of his depth. Please prove me wrong but so far it's the next chairman we should be looking forward to.

It wasn’t wholly aimed at you, your post merely summed up what people are dealing with.

He isn’t out of his depth, he openly spoke of his limits from the moment he took over the club.

I wouldn’t ever be targeting individual fans pal, I’m always open to input and debate, but let’s stop folk basing their opinions on Stu around ****e that started and was spread on the web, rather than the cast iron FACTS that are the clubs financial figures etc.

I can use other people’s opinions on the internet to evidence any argument I wish, but you know, the internet is often very, very wrong.

The ‘played is from the start’ part was absolutely that. He was open about his limits from day one. What was he playing?

The way the club was financed was not open from day one.
He clearly stated that the parachute payments were simply an insurance for ellis short in case donald did not pay him. Since then it has transpired that the parachute payments were used to fund the takeover.

Either way, then he said those payments guaranteed Ellis? So he was open that that money could go to Ellis?

    Ok then...

I'm sure GOM explained that in detail and if it hadn't have been structured in the accounts the way it was it would never have been noticed and it wasn't as sinister as was made out.

    I could be wrong though

Regardless of how ownership was taken, the club is now financially stable enough that we are a viable investment.

We certainly weren’t before. If he’s a chancer, my days he gambled his whole ****ing lot on it and he deserves credit for that.

If they hadn’t been able to cut those costs and stabilise the club, he’d have lost everything.

The fact we are even discussing a takeover of this level is incredible.

Wow this place is really different from over there, after my post i would have been called pissy knickers and probably felt the wrath of Pancho lol

Back to your point though, I've always had the theory they had a one season plan and then move on with a profit. The way it read to me is he promised no more of the old Sunderland, ie signing ****e on massive wages, smart investment and bringing through youth. But the reality is he did sign ****e on massive wages (Grigg) didn't make smart investments (Grigg and most of the team tbh) and the youth has been pretty non existant. He tread water last season expecting promotion with the 3 big fishes we had in the team, that went tits up and now he has no money to push us on and we are relying on freebies.
