I'd agree BUT I've found a place that sells, I think, the BEST pizza anywhere in Asia - in fact, I believe, probably anywhere outside of Naples.
I've been going there now for the past 12? years, which makes me look forward to my visit, every 15 months or so (when I'm waiting for my new visa to arrive) - don't bother on a visa run, because I'm in and out of Laos in next to no time.
I must confess, though, that the place doesn't have much else to commend it (apart from prices), even Khop chai deu seems to be going down the tubes (the food used to be reliably decent, but the last time I was there it was junk).
I'm assuming you're still in Oz, how are things there?

I like it. I live inner city and have a nice cruisy job and some good mates.
Summers can be a bit torrid.
I'm quite scared of retirement which beckons. Basically I have no hobbies and retirement means I will end up watching bad tv and eating unhealthy food. Work stops me doing that.

It's somewhere I've never visited and I know that it's a large country BUT, if you happen to reside in the Melbourne area it would seem that there's some great food available.
I would think elsewhere as well, I only mention Melbourne because of the number of TV programs I've watched relating to the food scene there.

Is it also worth considering that the start of a lot of these 'unsubstantiated message board rumours' was caused by the clear leak of information to the main source of PR used by the owners since their arrival, one of which delivered a podcast talking as if the deal was complete?
