I've seen some posts elsewhere saying there is no plan.

Talking to investors now that hopefully are on board when the season ends in 7 months is in my opinion a plan but some refuse to see it.

Even if they signed up on Monday there isn't much on the playing side they could do.

The biggest thing now is not who, when or how people takeover or invest but who is the new manager

Could this on going investment put managers off if they are unsure with what's going to happen with the hierarchy of the club.

Possibly, but then again a confident manager could be thinking "I know I can do this job and I will make it impossible for me to be replaced"

It could interest others as the possibilities and potential to really create something might appeal to them

Me, I would see it as a huge opportunity and a hell of a thing on my cv to be the manager who got us back in the premiership and created a Ferguson / wenger type legacy.

But its safc we are talking about so we will probably end up giving the job to the winner of the meat draw in steels on a rotating basis

Its possible but we already know that the investment is for the future and not this season. Surely that would interest potential managers...take us up this year and you could have a cracking transfer budget to work with in the championship.

Dont believe we will ever get a straight answer to this.
It amuses me that short still has many detractors and gets pelters. His crime, not being as vigilant as he could have and letting his managers manage ( albeit pretty poorly in most instances ) .
He dropped any where between 150 and 200m during his tenure after taking over a club in worse financial condition than Donald did. But he had the readies to sort it. He left the club debt free. He deserves a statue imo.
I reckon sd and cm are now caught in the headlights. It was all fun when they were tweeting and getting selfies and painting faded stadium seats.
Normal service has resumed. The important thing, success on the pitch has evaporated once again. They have presided over this evaporation since xmas and have probably welded the axe too late.
I reckon sd likes the limelight and sees the potential of the club and doesnt like the idea of being a flunky.
He used virtually nothing of his own ( by business standards ) modest stash and stands to make a pretty penny. But he appears to want the money and retain centre stage.
Is it a coincidence that both us based consortiums have withdrawn when almost on the cusp?

I can say, on this board, we were glad Ellis went, but we all reflected and credited not only for wiping the slate, but having a real go.

Ironically if Ellis had employed someone like Donald at that time he might have still been here.

He backed managers superbly up to Allardyce, and I think had Sam remained he’d have backed him too, indeed, Moyes squandered money.

We had top 8 form under Sam, who would have kept M’Vila, and had good targets in place that Moyes rejected.

He had great intentions but it didn’t work.

Under Short, we had Keane, Bruce and Allardyce all getting us close to being a decent Premier League team.

Couple of snippets I picked up yesterday, although nothing that's not out there.

They're interviewing over the weekend.
Phillips has applied, it's been acknowledged. I suspect that he may have already spoken to them, that's my guess I may add. He would love to get the job, doesn't think he will. He's also spoken to someone, quite easy to guess who, and would be up for being this persons number two, but that doesn't mean said person has applied.

Has he wrestled a wolf marra...?

'No 2's and safc have long been an item sadly

Can't recall said person being on Gladiators.

For what it's worth, I've put two bets on. £5 on Stendel at 14. £20 on Cook at 6.
I realise there a wealth of cliches re bookies but it is disturbing to see stendel at those odds especially via a vis parkinson

I'd guess odds will move as people attend interviews and maybe get spotted. Look at Ainsworth yesterday, he's now drifted back out.

It’s because they have no inside information on Stendel, he isn’t linked to a club.

If we approach a club, the bookies know that and slash odds, a few bets on and they shrink further.

I put £40 on Stendel yesterday at 13/1. If Stu wants to message me and tell me it’s him I’ll put £50k on and buy us a player <laugh>

I have to say ( but acknowledging as you point out in your first sentence ) ainsworth slipping out is a huge relief. May as well hire pulis as hire him
