Most of them are hard as nails as well had to be to survive with the **** they've been through.

Well when donald has spent 15m of his own money( never mind 150m ) and financially single handedly has kept us in the premier league for a decade come back to me with a big grin on your face

If we drop 2 leagues under Donald's tenure, you can come back to me.
I wont hold my breath.

Sorry, derailing the thread again.

Guess it will be all quiet till Monday now.

Part of me really hopes this investement goes through and SD just puts a really simple statement out -

"SAFC are delighted to announce after an intense period of negotiation FPP have joined the shareholders and board.

For all the doom mongers and helmets that have accused us of being chancers, can I just confirm up yours and bollox"

Hope so mate if it was over they could have told us so something must still be on going.

Just wish it would bloody hurry up

Wouldn't like to live over there like bloody freezing as well.
When you are born and raised in a climate like the ne England one thing you miss ( if you spend a lot of time in eg tropical climate ) is cold weather. I sleep better when it's cold outside and I prefer winter cuisine ( soups, stews etc ) rather than salads. Nowt worse than going for a stroll to the newsagent and being eaten alive by flies and sweating cobs.
Life is so cruel huh

Anybody that defends Short needs to look at a few facts....

1. He employed a man (de fanti) to buy and sell club assets (players)...a job he had never done before

2. He oversaw Sunderland amassing 31 points (i think) less than any other of the 92 football league teams in the last 10 years

3. He oversaw a new football league record of going the longest time without a home league victory (364 days I think)

4. He oversaw the lowest point in the clubs history bar none of putting us in league 1.

5. He put us in somewhere of the region of 160 million pounds worth of debt.

6. He employed David Moyes

I reckon I could think up of a few more points to make on him but apart from what my username says (which I am very thankful for btw) the man should never have been allowed anywhere near our club

Where you living now like mate?

Are you sure it was him though?
The decline happened on his watch , still can’t believe how such a successful businessman could not see or understand what was happening. The whole episode cost him a fortune when it dawned him how neglectful he had been, his kindness saw him leave the club debt free but our status badly diminished .

Still find it hard to use him as the scapegoat when he poured millions in before and after we crashed maybe other people should stand up and take the blame?

I'm relaxed about it, as long as we get promoted this year and have investment in place for the championship that's all that really matters.

Of course I would love them to takeover fully, go through the club and turn us into a major force, but not at the risk of them getting bored and leaving us in a mess.

If it has to be slow but steady progress, so be it

As long as we progress I'll be happy obviously be nice to be super rich but I'd just be happy with a canny team to cheer on that graft.

I've seen some posts elsewhere saying there is no plan.

Talking to investors now that hopefully are on board when the season ends in 7 months is in my opinion a plan but some refuse to see it.

Even if they signed up on Monday there isn't much on the playing side they could do.

The biggest thing now is not who, when or how people takeover or invest but who is the new manager
