Right, anyone use or have been to one of these Xcercise4less gyms?

Need somewhere cheap to go where I'm now working and I'm only going to stay away twice a week, so will only go twice a week.

They look like they'll be my idea of a nightmare, full of roid heads and fat birds, but I'm not paying top money to use somewhere nine times a month, tops.

The alternative is go for a run but its it's just entering the darkest time of the year so, you know, **** that.

Used to go to “The Gym” and it was fine. Basic but fine.

I used something similar at work a few years back in a similar situation. I think it depends on the area really. Can you not use pay as you gym/train or whatever it’s called and trial it for a few sessions before you commit?

There's a (free) five day free trial pass so will have a go at that.

I could be wrong but, knowing the area it's in, I doubt I will be!

So why do people go to a gym when you can do everything you need either at home with basic equipment or outdoors?

Why the need to be surrounded by sweaty people or people posing in a mirror?

Motivation - also some of those sweaty people have nice arses and big tits.

Motivation?
If you commit yourself to going out to a place to exercise you are more likely to do it. Too easy at home to just say **** it and put the TV on. Obviously doesn't apply to going running outside but the home gym thing just doesn't work.

Ah gotta ya match.

As you know, all i used to do was run, i could run for hour after after and just lose myself.

I find it similar to work, i just treat it as a long workout each .day, that's when i'm not ****ing about .

Got an agreement now at work, i only work the heavier grids, i have my reasons for that, one being i can't stand working with the invalids on restrictions, they are just a hinderance.

So i'm either on my truck, or hoying random heavy ****. It's draining though.

I did the same thing with my job - got them to give me a keyboard with much stickier keys.

No way would I work out if I was doing a manual job. My only form of exercise during work hours is going down the corridor to shout at someone.

I laugh at work with all this manual handling lark.

Lets just take a case of banana for example. At a full pallet they are 1.8m high, and weighing 18kg each.

Now lads are taking 2 of at a time for orders. But not muggins, one at a time for me, I rely on speed not power,i'm not gonna **** myself up anymore than needed.

Strange as with all their power, speed wins.

I work smart, not by strength.

Depends where you live I suppose ?

If you live in a city or in the burbs, then access to good outdoor spaces might not be easy. Also the cost of decent gym equipment would be too prohibitive for most people to buy, or have the space to house.

The idea of spending time in the gym on a treadmill or some cycling machine bores me to tears. I'm lucky enough to have easy access to the countryside and the sea, the natural environment here is superb. Yet people here still sign up for the gym ....

I’ve got a bike in the lounge. Still go to the gym but doing the odd 2km here and 3km there when watching the box must help.

Also ****ting like a champion the last few days that I’ve not had meat.

Most people go the gym to make themselves look better, not really for fitness.

True or false?

I’d imagine if you strictly confine this study to £16 a month pure gym and ****ty Virgin Gyms, you’d be right. The public perception of the gym-going person is probably the carpet fitter in a Gold’s Gym vest who only cares about his arms and shagging cheap slags.

Probably accounts for less that 5% of all gym members across the country mind.

Yeah there’s loads of them. Most gym members are fat useless slobs who don’t turn up. That’s where gyms make most of their money.

Fitness is not my top priority, I just go to get energy out most of the time. I hold too much in and it’s a good place to go to burn a lot of **** off.

don't get me wrong mate, i only work heavy grids now, so everday is with these lads, and they are all sound.

it's actually good for me to be around them rather than the fairies on restrictions...We have a good laugh, just same as going to a gym with ya mates.

A lot of prima donnas, talking about tats etc, i just laugh.
