So Johnson has blinked and now accepts Northern Ireland staying in the Customs Union. He may well now agree a deal with the EU, but can it get through parliament? The DUP will surely not approve and the ERG won't like it either, so a lot of opposition support will be needed and this will only be forthcoming if a referendum is attached.
McDonnell Confirms He and Corbyn Will Resign if they Lose Another Election please log in to view this image In an interview with Alastair Campbell, John McDonnell has confirmed he and Corbyn will quit leading the Labour Party if they lose another election. Now all that remains is to make them realise this time round that coming 56 seats behind the Tories doesn’t count as a victory… McDonnell may not even have to wait for an election defeat, however, as this morning it was learnt he may be shifting to backing Tom Watson’s plan of holding a referendum before an election; and in retaliation, some of Labour’s most hardcore membership are already briefing against him. Really? You must be slipping. If anything was certain in this whole sorry fiasco it was that the leader of a minority government (entirely self-inflicted status) who withdraws the whip from those who have not swallowed the Brexit no deal optimism would finally force the opposition to get their act together sufficiently to prevent leaving without a deal. I agree with you though that there clearly are more twists on the way. LAST WEEK. That seems to be and they show a photo of Arlene Foster with a face like thunder. They have no leverage at all now thanks to Dominic Cummings tactics Villanelle ain't got nothing on Bojo.
You're a brave man to speculate, Yorks. I find it genuinely impossible to predict what will happen. Just that it will be significant, and in the next week or so
