really bad form to text someone’s personal number and equally bad for a group to sit with glee laughing at the fallout.
I’m wondering if those same people would be equally as willing to participate with their real names for everyone to see ....

Chunk has been supporting you throughout all this marra. What he's saying is don't let the WUM,s get to you as in reality it's probably one of them that's sent you the text as it's quite easy to find your number on line.
Take a minute and read back through the last few pages, he's not having a go at you in the slightest.

RR/ALS/BBC suddenly stopped mentioning that it's virtually a done deal, as if someone official has warned them off as it could affect the deal. The text sounds like a WUM but Hotlips' posts sound genuine to me. Obviously I haven't seen the PMs but it sounds like someone is serious about trying to stop these potentially unhelpful rumours being spread.Not sure who it is but the pm's he sent were much harder hitting.
He threatened the Mods not to reveal the contents.
I'm just an ordinary bloke mate, who's posted what I've been told in good faith. Nothing I've said was worse than RR/ALS/BBC.
Yet I've been subjected to a sustained month long attack by some on RTG, including Mods, and some posters have even registered here to continue.
I've had texts, emails and other messages threatening me with all sorts ....

Spot on m8, whether that hotlips gadgee was real or not, the sentiments around stopping the rumours were well founded, they can’t be helpful, if they came from a source then there’s a leak at a senior level on safc’s Side, if they’re made up then it deflects away from the real business of negotiating. Not helpful at all.
In which case they should approach me in an adult fashion, not sneak around threatening me like cowardly internet warriors. I always respond 'in kind' which is why I'm always happy to lash out at anyone coming on to have a pop at me.
Of course the text may be a wind up, I never said it was from Michael Dell. Of course the imbeciles, among us, will always claim I did because that's how they manage to fill in their sad empty hours.
I posted the text for 2 reasons.
Firstly to show people the kind of shyte I get on a daily basis such as the Hotlips posts and pm's. The sensible ones appreciate why that sometimes makes me a little abrupt with people.
Secondly it's to demonstrate, to the text sender, that they've made a big mistake. You choose to send me an anonymous unsolicited text, solely to cause trouble, and there'll be a reaction in kind. Its very easy to track someone's number, and obtain a name and address, these days. If you wish to avoid trouble don't send your number to someone who enjoys a fight.
I'll be posting the mobile number, on here and elsewhere, this morning. If the person texts me, from that number, to explain and apologise, I may not take it further. I, like others, think its a sad little Wum of the kind that infests the internet and tries to cyber bully people. They're scum, imo, and a little clique of them exists on RTG. Everyone, including the Mods, know who they are but they're allowed to spoil things for decent people because the Mods just want clicks, not actual debate.
Il now text that number and give this one a last chance to avoid it going any further ...

I posted a text I'd received and defended myself once attacked.
If you see that as unreasonable then I'll live with it tbh.

I texted the following message, to that number, 15 minutes ago ....
"OK, last chance before this gets nasty and other people become involved. I will involve the police and happily pay for a trace on your number. On top of the other abusive messages, etc, I've been receiving for a month I'll make a complaint of cyber bullying. The police will have no option but to investigate and waste valuable time on you. Be a man, explain and apologise then I'll consider what happens next. Otherwise I'll be posting your number across the boards, etc etc etc. That's a fair warning."
