I think it's clear there's an issue holding this deal up for quite some time from what he said talks are ongoing, but there's definitely an issue surrounding the details of the deal and it's not the price it's the politics surrounding the deal ..I think he's being offered money to get them the prem before a takeover happens and they want the takeover concluded in one go or something along those lines
On BBC Newcastle, when it was directly mentioned to SD about MSD partners taking over he didn't deny their involvement at all. Some people are taking it that they're out and he's looking at other investors. If that was the case, he would've said no to MSD, there wouldn't still be FPP Sunderland on Companies House and he wouldn't have set a deadline for Friday to inform us. Unless he's had simultaneous negotiations with another party, there's no way a separate group would be involved enough to be included in a Friday update.
The way Friday update was mentioned it sounded final. It'll either be Friday that MSD are gone due to a deadline, or Friday MSD are confirmed (if not before).
