Probably one of the last stumbling blocks, him and Satori 20%

Don't think Sartori gets a say mate. But aye, reading between the lines I think negotiations may have got a bit adversarial and I'd be surprised if Donald would want to work with (for) them. Might be wrong of course

He may have shot himself in the foot after the Consett Talk in and the amount of leaks etc?

I was going to post this last night and spent ages looking for the post (on rtg), but couldn't find it...its somewhere in amongst the ****e in the "SAFC takeover latest thread".
A lad posted weeks ago that the date to look out for would be October 9th. It stuck in my mind that it just seemed a bit "informed" for want of a better word, yet seemed to go unnoticed.
I cant even remember the posters name tbh.

Yes, he kept getting called out on it because he kept quoting his own prediction if that's the one you're referring to?

Quite possibly. Main thing is people hearing it was off, and then hearing it might be back on. It already seems to have gone on longer than many expected, and whatever the fanzines say I'm pretty sure they were told it was done. We know the Americans hold all the cards; Donald will struggle to afford to keep us, especially if we don't go up (this is now looking more likely and has further strengthened their hand). Add to that the excitement among the fans contrasted with the growing anger about performances, if this breaks down for whatever reason both sides know Donald will cop a lot of stick and it might make him very keen to get out.

So he, in my opinion, absolutely needs this. He won't be ****ing about but I feel that someone has moved the goal posts, hence it nearly being off. That can only be them, and its kind of in line with how ruthlessly I imagine these kind of people operate. If they wanted to turn the screw I imagine they could, and Donald would be in a tight spot. Ultimately I think he'd have to accept to get it done, but I don't think he'd like it. That's a lot of speculation, what kind of concessions they might want I don't know (a higher percentage than Donald wanted to sell, better payment terms etc, who knows) but it wouldn't surprise me, and I doubt he'd want to work with them afterwards

One scenario is maybe donald doesnt fancy being out of the limelight but new potential owners want their own people firmly in control.
SD is a bit of a loose cannon when he keeps ingratiating himself on social media

He didn't really say anything that wasn't scripted when he was there. He gave nothing away. It was the idiots making stuff up on message boards and attributing it to him that was the problem.

And that may be the sticking point with the proposed new owners, maybe they have seen that and would rather take the "keep the distance" approach?

I hope they don't as the fan engagement has been very positive (in my opinion) but you only have to look at the real big clubs to see that its unheard of with them

Anything in that?

I'd doubt it. I've said it quite a few times now, people have been reading too much into that talk in. He's been doing them on a regular basis and has more booked in with other branches. You never really hear much about them as it's all just a rehash of the various podcasts. The takeover fever set all kinds of rumours away that were very quickly put to bed. In these kind of deals, no news is good news.

You may well be right, its just my opinion and more than likely my over active imagination

It probably went unnoticed because at that point a few weeks ago everyone was in a 'I've heard its tomorrow mode' so the 9th October just did not compute.
