Pretty sure that a manager going ballistic on the sidelines doesn't have a big positive effect. Different managers have different styles, some of the top managers are passionate and some are cool as a cucumber.

Maybe showing a bit of passion would go a long way towards keeping the fans on his side.?

Probably but it's irrelevant now, the guillotine of public opinion has fallen and Ross' head has gone spinning.

Personally I think analysing stuff like body language is nitpicking that only happens when things aren't going well. I prefer a passionate manager same as you by the sounds of it but it doesn't mean much really. Di Canio was passion personified and as fondly as people think of him he was a **** manager who hasn't worked since.

I normally check out 2 pages of general chit chat re the takeover malarkey on this board. When I came on here tonight I was confronted with pages and pages of back and forth venom about Ross which should be posted elsewhere.

Don’t get me wrong the ineptitude of our current manager needs at least one thread to vent off on but not this one eh?

Probably because (and i’m being generous here) 1% of the messages were related to the takeover.

We really need this sorted soon so we can either continue on our current structure and appoint a replacement for Jack on shoestring terms or appoint someone with a better track record knowing that the takeover is happening.

I get the feeling that the takeover could still possibly fall through and if it does I can see us having an extended stay in L1. Hope I’m wrong but this has a weird feel to it.

Agreed. I know @Smug in Boots has hinted that the issues aren't likely to prevent the takeover and that it's just them wanting everything in place before they announce. For me we're very nearly in a position whereby if they're coming they just need to announce it. Things to do with land, staffing etc can be sorted out later, but I think we need some certainly and if they are planning on a shakeup, anyone they're bringing in needs to be here asap and getting to work.

Currently it feels like we're in a holding pattern but results are faltering, performances aren't improving and we've got big decisions (certainly regarding the manager) that we need to be taken. We can't afford to be in league one next season and currently we look like we're sleep walking towards it. Let's hope the 1-2 weeks stated by Donald is accurate, and if they are coming I hope it is like a tsunami, or an earthquake at least, because this club needs shaking to its foundations

That being the case we need to find a new manager as we are not getting promoted under Jack. To be fair to him he probably doesn't have a clue where he stands with a takeover potentially going to happen, not making excuses for him as I would make a change now but it can't help him not knowing if he is going to be in a job within a few weeks.

Jack Ross must be a dead man walking either way.

If there's a takeover the one really big statement they can make upon arrival is a new manager. They'll also be well aware by now that it would be a vastly popular move amongst the fans, particularly if they can attract a replacement of decent stature. Can't see him staying if it goes through.

If it doesn't, I think Donald and co will realise just how pissed off the fan base are - frustration with results, performances and exasperation at the failed takeover would see a massive backlash, and to try and slightly address the situation one of the only moves they'd have is to at least pull the trigger on the manager. I really don't see a way the bloke can survive from here and, even worse, he's chosen to postpone Fleetwood so he likely won't even have a meaningful (I'm going to the Grimsby game but no one is really arsed about it) game to try and show a reaction. This **** show will be his last meaningful performance before the takeover goes through or breaks down, doesn't look such a good decision now

I just think it’s the uncertainty of the takeover that’s affecting everything. Unless his sacking is authorised by the potential new owners I’d be surprised if Ross is sacked. Whether he should go or not is a different question my own view is that he should as I think he’s lost the dressing room. I don’t think those players were playing for him yesterday.

    To quote John Cooper Clarke,

"Like a night club in the morning ...
    ... you're the bitter end."

I was told by someone who knows a fair bit, and occasionally posts on RTG, that the Americans are acting to type.

Just as they'll do with the staff, players, council, etc, they're squeezing Donald's pips which is delaying the announcement.

To go back to John Cooper Clarke, as an example, the Americans had people there for the 'Burton match' who examined the SOL in the cold light of day. It's one thing being there when there's a crowd, and all the staff, etc, but without that it's tatty and really needs work. That's just one of the areas where pips are being squeezed but there's lots more like the AOL etc.

We may think the AOL is top class but from a country where college teams have better facilities it's not too impressive.

If all goes as we hope and the plans go ahead the club will be changed out of all recognition ...

... and that's the legacy that's been talked about.

That would make sense we forget how old the stadium is and I can't imagine much has been spent on it for a fair few years

If it is land or staffing issues etc. then I agree, this has come to a head where they need to pull their heads out of the sand and understand the real issue here and now is Jack Ross and they need to announce it's all gone through or not and we move forward. We are a football club ultimately and the football side is not performing so this has to be the priority first and foremost. They will be judged on everything as and when they do it, not coming in and announcing with a nice big bang. They will hopefully be here for years to come and will be judged on an ongoing basis, not a '**** me what an entrance' 5 years down the line as that will be long forgotten by then and current performance in the spotlight...

I appreciate that you are cautious with what you share, but are you still of the view that there is no going back on the takeover?

The thought of such sweeping change coming to the club is exciting.

From what's visible, absolute everything the Americans have done is positive.

They've flown over, been to a game, registered a company, etc etc.

Only something catastrophic, that Short and Donald didn't know,/hid could scupper it imo.
