Didn't they say they weren't going to change the badge or have I dreamt that?

I think Guinness Guzzler has it spot on and an announcement on or just before the talk in on the 11th seems to fit.

Wonder if they will be at the talk in?

I totally believe that mate, no doubt.

I've been given a tiny little gem of info, from someone who must surely know the facts, that's given me a real boost.

It's not a massive thing but I doubt it could've happened without everyone's agreement. It's to do with an image at the club and will become evident quite soon. I can't say what but I think it will make people smile when it comes out.

Various people have tried to take the fun out of all of this but I believe they're about to be kicked right in the plums :1980_boogie_down:

Cheers mate for this. Appreciate the info you give and even though this is very vague it to me seems a very positive sign so I'm chuffed.

Cheers

Exactly mate if it was to fall through why would they do that as will know the fans wouldn't be happy.

I've got a feeling it's a CM PR move gain bit more money and get the select few who go to hear first hand before the press etc.

Bloody hope so anyway <party>

I know we’re are no longer a publicly floated company so different rules apply but I can’t believe the buyers would think it’s good practice to announce the takeover to a few people would paid a few pounds, before its announced to the financial markets.

I don't think they have to announce it to the financial markets, pretty sure that's a requirement for Companies listed on Stock Exchanges

I'm a little confused here, why would they need to announce to any financial market?

If we were on the stock market this sort of information legally has to be announced to them first. We aren’t and I am not sure of the rules around private companies, but the potential owners will be used to making these announcements to the financial world first, rather than to a supporters group.

I would imagine as its their own private investment and we are only a Limited Company, they have no need to announce it to the financial world.

I cant recall any other takeover where Stock Markets etc were informed first.

Edit. I could well be wrong though and happy to be put right by someone more used to dealing with these huge takeovers

Well in a couple of days we have a football game... I think I will park takeover chat until 1700 on Saturday... especially as mentioned earlier it's all Schroder's Cat atm ie going nowhere and may be dead or alive

No, you’re right. They don’t have to announce it to anyone - otherwise there’d be an announcement for every single company that’s incorporated or sold and that would be several million companies a year.

It’s only companies that are publicly traded that need to make announcements as the public need to know in case they have investments in those companies.

I'm with @Chunksafc on this one.
It will only be a case of lodging the change of ownership with Companies House
Then again what do I know :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Edit - See post by @West Winger, puts it quite succinctly

Publicly traded companies are obliged to announce to the public and the stock exchange anything which may affect the share price.....potential takeovers or anything else. We're not a public company....it doesn't apply to us.

Yeah they definitely said they weren't changing the badge, and the new owners wouldn't do it either, not unless opinion changed. If the first thing they did was come in and give us a new badge that no one has been asked about it would set a bit of a tone of distrust! Not sure what the image could be like! If FPP had a Facebook or something I'd think it was a header with the SoL in it or something but since they obviously don't I'm at a loss!

Understandable but, we are not like anything they deal with on the stock markets so they may feel a more personal approach would be better. Especially if they are taking advice from SD as this would be right up his street. FWIW, I don't think they will announce at the talk in, but maybe tie in with the talk in, after the official announcement.

I personally see this being on announced on the 9/10th October with Donald clarifying the structure of the deal and his stance at his talk in, there's not a chance he would put himself up like that if the deal was to fall through when we know who the buyers are the clout they have.

that's my own personal opinion mind so wouldn't be shocked if I'm proven completely wrong as it is Sunderland I'm talking about after all.

I think you're bang on mate. He wouldn't put himself up there if he couldn't give an update or if it had fallen through. Equally I think they'll want to announce it to the whole fan base at the same time. Makes sense that it's announced just before, then there's the chance for questions etc there, have a feeling they might eventually announce that it's being streamed as well

I know SD can be naive at times but I don't think he's a complete idiot, the club read social media and forums and they know how much the fans want this now, so like I say mate I truly believe it will be announced before that talk in.

The talk in makes me believe the deal is done to be honest as like I will reiterate he's a human being and why would voluntarily hang himself out to dry like that.

I wonder if the long term aim is to have a public share issue.
Once we're back in the prem, and at the top end hopefully. it would be nice to reaquire my shareholding, which as someone else mentioned, was taken from me by Quinn.
