Did he really? He just made them play to a coherent game plan. Our strike force was of Robson and Perez was on fire last year, and the first thing that happens is that gets immediately dismantled. Bruce gets brand new and inexperienced strike force, so let's forgive Bruce for the lack of goals for the moment. But we had an abundance of decent defenders who were all playing well and organised last season... and in just a few months, Bruce has managed to convince these defenders to stop being an organised unit, to being a bunch of comatose clowns who let the opposition score for fun. Diane is the only one in midfield missing from last season, yet Bruce has managed to make it look like our entire midfield isn't there. Even Longstaff who was never anything below outstanding last year, is starting to become ****e. Rafa did well, but a bit less of the Rafa is a miracle worker and more of Bruce hasn't got a bloody clue, please.
were ****ed now under any management ! next 7 games I can see 2 points absolute maximum , but I expect 0, but come January I'd like to se us sell the players that won't stay, get in a manager that has a way of playing and start building for our promotion push.
far too much ! I wonder if any of the people I argued with on here both before and after west ham away last year want to continue with their assertion that he's a better player than rice ? lolol miles off .. hopefully he can do a job this season and next , but if we want to be in this league we need some midfielders that can play.
who spotted Joelinton ? christ the north east find these players, we have Grigg, Wyke, i bet all three won't score 5 goals between them this season. I bet you could have got Calum wilson of Bournemouth for £20-25 m.
Could have kept Perez and got Rondon for £16m and had the 20+ goals we had last year from those 2... It's O.K. though because Mike Ashley was going to chip in £20-23m of his own money for the deal to bring in Joelinton
well the fans chased out one of their own when they blamed carr instead of Ashley for the clubs failings a while back and Ashley of course accepted the diversion and fired him..
Our CB Schar cost less than Grigg (£4m) and scored more goals last Season..from defence.... and in a league two divisions higher. just saying...
Richie out and Perez and Rondon away is a massive loss to that team. Decent CBs or not they are coming under more pressure because Joelinton is not doing as good a job as Rondon at getting the team up the pitch, Almiron has lost his partner in Perez when closing down the oppo and Richie isn't out there setting the example.
Rafa did very well under the circumstances - both politically and on the pitch. Under Ashley, the job is a poisoned chalice and I doubt even Klopp or Pep would be able to achieve more than 45 points with this squad; so changing the manager is unlikely to improve our prospects. As we all know, until Ashley sells the club or explodes in a sea of lager and curry, there will be little joy or hope.
And we have a **** manager....that also doesn't help. 7 games in, in Joselu's first season he'd scored more goals than Joelinton by this point, FACT.
