Is there anything about the kit that shows that he is a) definitely a Sunderland player b) a first teamer?

I may be missing something here (I don't recognise him) but can we be sure it is someone anyone of us would possibly recognise anyway?

Yeh there is no certainty he is a sunderland player

No one get it last time it was on although it caused lots of angst then too.

Best guess then was that the picture was taken on the 'lane' coming towards 'The New Derby', but even that wasn't unanimous.

IF I find time I might have another look through my copy of 'All The Lads'.
We all seemed to agree that it was a keeper, but it doesn't have to have been one of ours|

Cheers it’s become a pain in the arse over the last few years
I’ve show that pic to many sunderland supporters with no avail
Maybe he is not one of ours ??????

Where did you get the photo from Vince if I may ask, looks like it could be down at Hendon ? where the youth team used to play in the 60's, only stab I can make at it from the photo is a very young Peter Shilton, but my memory even then was never any good. <ok>

Dont think there was any trees in that area before the ground was demolished and the lane looks to long unless you were referring to the lane behind Bede St and the fence is wrong. <ok>

Peter shilton never really started playing till the 70's. He would have been the age of those bairns kn that pic

The photo is possibly late 60,s and Shilton was born in 1949 playing for Leicester City in 1966 at the age of 16 so it could fit.
