Apart from a statement from the current owners, the new company registered at the SOL, the appointment of a new director, the report of an imminent announcement by the BBC, the appearance of the new owners at a game, the return for the postponed Burton match, etc ...
... absolutely nothing.
You missed the bit about there being a whole bloody thread about our takeover. This is the fakeover thread

Whilst it is quite funny seeing them squirm there is a (semi) serious point here.
The Newcastle PR machine is quite finely honed and has cultivated contacts that always seems to project them in a positive light, despite their obvious failings. They are utterly ruthless in emphasising the negatives for any area, or club, other than Newcastle.
We could take some lessons from them as quite frankly some of our PR has been sadly lacking, even amateurish, we need to get smart and quickly. Hopefully the new owners will bring something to this area.
Really? I think their PR is embarrassing to the whole club. Ashley has not given a monkeys chuff what any fan thinks of what he has done.

In the paper today regarding their takeover it, the Sun article says a document sent to potential investors said "GACP Sports plans to support the current manager,Steve Bruce, who has had unparalleled success in Europe" :emoticon-0102-bigsm They must have copied and pasted from when Rafa was there at a guess, as Brucey has managed one qualifying game in Europe at Hull and lost it. If that's good PR then they can keep it.

I think that you may need to look beyond the initial appearance.
Yes there are obvious errors but what have people been talking about today? what made the papers? the "potential" Newcastle takeover.
This to me was nothing more than a spoiler. I think that they were convinced that we were about to make an announcement and they wished to disrupt and / or minimise the publicity that would arise from any announcement made by the club.
Yes they got it wrong but hey there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Agree to disagree. I think they looked bad with such a daft press story. I doubt their fans will be too happy. Derby got publicity with their players on the piss, and their captain out for the season. I wouldn't call that great publicity either. I get your point in a general sense, but not when it's news that makes the club look crap

Yes let's agree to disagree, I do take your points on board in relation to Derby but I hope that both you and I know what I meant.
This is quite refreshing able to discuss matters and not end up in a slagging contest
Cheers

Totally agree mate. The amount of fans we have, means we have fans with opinions that must vary vastly. You won't get any silly comments back from me. I have been wrong on too many things i was sure off before, i know i'm not the oracle. Just a fan who loves the club, like yourself.

Hear hear I’ve said for long enough that had lot relegated us and not the other way around it would still be shoe horned into every article possible to this day. Since it was SAFC that consigned them to their fate it’s been conveniently air brushed from history.

... starring Mike Ashley as Baron Hardup and Peter Kenyon as Buttons <laugh>

Well it seems the whole pantomime is about to start again.

I dont get it.
The main man at gacp ie worth less than ashley.
Why would toon fans think the bloke would spend more than ashley who in fairness has put a boatload in .
The 350 m ashley wants is almost 25% of this new blokes wealth.
The alleged 50m they would put in might, just might stave off relegation.
That team needs at least another 250 m to get it in the top 10.

From what I've heard, and seen, these people will go through the club like a tsunami.

There will be some employees, not on the bottom rung, clearing their desks today according to an acquaintance whose partner works with the administration of the club, not actually at the stadium.

Sadly its needed. Our PR/Corporate/Sponsorship/etc needs a massive shake up.
I think such positions are the least of our issues while in this pub league.
The football dept is the Crux of our problems

I agree, up to a point ...

... but this is just a football chat forum with people chatting about football and stuff.

We can't affect anything so it's all harmless isn't it?
Totally agree.
I'd just like to see on field stuff get priority ( which I assume it will) when all the dust settles.

On the basis of the various versions we have been told about, no chance.

My 'favourite' was that they would pay £100 mil up front with the rest to come from profits over the next few, (number unstated) years.
QUESTION.
How many years would it take a Premier League Football club to generate a £200mil profit?

The whole thing looked like trying to get the better of Mike Ashley.

Good luck to them.

Their desperation and delusions of grandeur don’t go unnoticed by other clubs, you only have to look at other clubs forums to or talk to fans at games to know this is true.

They’re like a satire of a club these days.

Spitting Image is making it back to the small screens soon.

What's the betting on a 'Toon/Mike Ashley' puppet?
