Buffoon 2 dismissed Democratic Socialism in the USA about a year back. Senator Bernie Sanders has been there or thereabouts since the 1970's, speaking truth. And he gets on Stephen Colbert's show for the umpteenth time last night. How about this for a reception?

EDIT: Wow, do I wish he was available to vote for here.

A barmy take. Parliament are clearly worried about the impact of a no deal. They are demanding a say, which is what happens in a
    a democracy.
Please bare in mind that it's their job to know and understand how it will affect us.

How on earth is this labour's fault?

Brexit is a conservative problem, caused to try and win back some of the UKIP vote.

As for Farage speaking sense, well, I have no words, anyone that is naive enough to believe a word that comes out of his mouth, has lost all reason IMO.

This is Part 2 of Bernie Sanders' interview on Stephen Colbert's show. [Part 1 is post #20061]. Does this sound anything like familiar to the situation in the UK? Well actually, in terms of wealth inequality, it's a whole lot worse. But our Brexit direction is sending us right there. Wake up UK, the Americans don't like where they've found themselves:

Hope for BSA then! I used to run around Southampton in the late 70`s on a B25 Starfire. There was a PC Lucas who rode another B25 variant and used to try and catch us - he didn`t want to give us a ticket, he only wanted a blether about bikes ! You don`t get that these days !

Spending a few days in the Republic of Ireland certainly puts things into perspective. I last visited County Cork in the late 70's, and since then it has become completely integrated into the EU. All the roadsigns are metric, as was the car we hired for the day today, although beer still comes in pints. A forward-looking, cosmopolitan country which would no more dream of leaving the EU than of burning witches. Why are they so different from us? Could it be their media isn't owned by disaster capitalists? Could it be that having left the British Empire nearly 100 years ago they aren't still dreaming of a golden age that never was? Maybe they aren't such a bunch of racist, xenophobic idiots as too many in Britain are.

I've never been so apprehensive about returning to my own country as I am today. Thanks, Tory voters, thanks for ****ing up the country I love.

I suppose I'd better bring this up. One week has gone by and it's another Friday. What does that mean? It means Day 2 of the Global Climate Strike. If I can I shall be doing it next week. But for now:

Just a few from around the world today.

Incidentally, I noticed MLT giving air to a climate crisis denier. I'm a bit disappointed in Matty. He's a Brexit Leaver for starters. Then he does this suggesting that there is a Climate Fraud going on. Doesn't he realise that there is no money behind the campaigns towards making people aware of Climate Change? But there's millions of dollars behind the FUD which seeks to influence people to deny all the evidence. And if industries, like the oil industry can slow the elimination of fossil fuels by one single day, they gain an extra $2.75 billion a day. And that's just the oil for transportation, which makes up 50% of the total. So they are going to throw hundreds of millions of dollars at getting you to disbelieve the scientific evidence, [of which I posted an IPCC report just the other day https://www.not606.com/threads/politics-thread.323930/page-1000 post #19984.] because it is easily worth it. It's petty cash.

Incidentally, I'd like to see some Likes here, just to prove to me you're bothering to cast your eye over this stuff.

Oh no! Was this Dublin? Hope it turns up!

Yes, it's the obvious place for us too when GB goes tits up. We discovered Glandore, near Roscarbery, today. That will do nicely!
