She's doing it off her own back though.
As Luv said, maybe an adult should step up so that she can be in school and have her childhood back.
I don't think she's made that way and would probably find some other cause but I agree in that there should be people in the background taking up her cause if they really believe in it and in doing so take the strain of a kids shoulders.
The scientists aren't hiding though. They are all coming out with the data and evidence. The school strike stuff has gained momentum precisely because seems so wrong that a child is leading the call to action, when she should be in school.
Just being in a room with Gretna would give me stress, she's too ****ing intense for me.

Tories should be particularly mindful ... last time there was climate change on such a scale, dinosaurs were wiped out 
Well, do I think the world will end in 12 years? No. People have been saying the same **** since I was a toddler.
Do I think humans are affecting the environment? Yes!
Things like plastic in the sea and in landfill, carbon emissions, deforestation....yes, all this is going to eventually have an adverse affect on this planet and needs to be stopped and/or counteracted.
Thrusting a mentally ill child in front of cameras to cry isn't going to achieve **** all though. We need credible voices to educate people with the facts.
Nobody is saying the world will end in 12 years. What the science is predicting is that if we don't drastically reduce our carbon output in the next 12 years then we will dramatically change the climate to the point where extreme events will occur that threaten all life on the planet.
If I took my kids out of school put them on a boat and paraded them around America during term time to scream at people telling them we are all going to die then they would probably get taken into care.
