This, I lost count of the times I corrected people on the difference between fact and opinion. Just too many posters wanting to gun down other posters for their own egotistical merits.
And when other posters point out they are just argumentative they then claim they are being bullied. It would be funny but it is just so obvious and is actually pathetic.

It would definitely put everyone on a high. Would love it to bring a few of the stay aways back, but it will probably take promotion to do that IMO.

Promotion will do it mate, but before then some exciting, attacking winning football will really help. That's what we're lacking.

There's just a clump of posters who whinge at virtually everything anyone posts, they're all clones so none really stand out tbh. They rarely post threads, or opinions, because it's easier for them to just snipe away than stick their necks out. When they're left without targets they don't know which way to turn. Even after I was banned they were still lining up, weeks later, to discect the tiniest grammatical errors. A misplaced adjective was pounced on like a smoking gun.

Really mate, that's quite infantile for adults.

Lots of people, now coming on here, have said the same thing ...

... that they're tired of the cliques, thread derailing and personal attacks.

They'll hopefully somewhere here that welcomes debate but doesn't tolerate trolls and wums.

Hello all. Yes I’m one of them. Followed / Lurked on PF for many a year but seemed like a clique forum at times so never bothered posting.

Realised I’d signed up for here years ago but hadn’t been on in donkeys years but it’s so nice to see decent friendly posters on a decent friendly fans forum like this and like many posters I’ve been enthralled and reinvigorated by the news of our potential takeover.

Really appreciate all the updates you’ve been able to give us Smug and hopefully we can all look forward to happier times ahead.

The potential of what is about to happen not just to our club but the city as a whole is scary and exciting and I’m relishing the prospect of what lies ahead.

I haven’t had a season ticket for a number of years since the old man passed away when we used to go together and I only wish he could have still been around to see what potentially could be some of the greatest years our club has ever seen.

Here’s to the future!

Very true. Been cool coming on here and reading your updates without having to wade through 50 posts of **** trying to rip what you've said apart. And big thanks for all them updates, been making me one smiley happy camel.

I'm not on the attack in the slightest, just overjoyed at the takeover, certain of my facts and not too worried about proving them. I don't feel inclined to jump when someone demands a link to be honest. People either believe me or not, it's of no concern.

Are you on board with the something is happening in next couple of days crack or is that opposite to your info? I'm losing track

You wonder don’t you. Mega rich American businessmen, paths will have crossed.

They're all only one step removed from each other.

I worked for a HNW Jewish entrepreneur in Provence a few years back.

He had Shirley Bassey staying, who he represented as an agent, and she asked if there was any chance of contacting a certain well known American actor.

He boasted that he could reach anyone in the world within 3 phone calls.

She bet him he couldn't so he took the bet and set to finding this actor.

He had his number with 2 calls, rang him on the 3rd and he picked up <laugh>

It was all on speakerphone and he asked who was the woman giggling like a schoolgirl in the background.

Not the best story, I admit, but it proves your point.

Sorry to hear your old man isn't around to see this moment. Hopefully you come back for the new era to see the club do him proud!

Your post made me think about my grandad, who played for the club in the 50s and still goes with his brother-in-law to this day with his season ticket near the halfway line. I sit elsewhere in the ground but see him at half-time or full-time whenever possible. He struggles to walk any distance of late yet still goes every week to the home matches irrespective of the weather. Having lost his wife late last year, he's been understandably a bit lost of late and I'm pleased his reward for his dedication is hopefully arriving soon, it's looking like it will be a fantastic new era for the football club.

I've only had one message that wasn't second hand info and came from someone with a partner involved in Sunderland admin, but not at the SOL.

They told me that people, in the club, are getting excited and talking about an announcement before our game on Saturday.

Actually I suppose that is second hand info as well but this person told me something else their partner mentioned that was proved correct.

That was that a new company would be registered at Companies House, something I messaged a grumpy old mate about.

Prove it mate.
I’m looking for Jennifer Anniston for a weekend in York. She might not be interested in The Berk but would be dripping like an otters pocket at my RTG log in. :emoticon-0110-tongu

Nice story that mate. Hope the takeover gives your grandad a bit of a boost.

Maybe the new owners could do the half time challenge!

If it is announced Saturday it will be a strange atmosphere. People will be buzzing from the news, but then a poor start could see things go sour on the Jack Ross front.

Well it certainly seems consistent with the other info on the SMB. So that's a positive.

There have been more than a few of those you would expect BUT the worst for me has been Jardine who keeps insisting that Reiver posted as a fact, on more than one occasion, when completion would be announced.

That was something he never did and he made it quite clear, when posting, that completion dates were his opinion not fact.

Not only that, he then uses the falsehood to justify his claim that R has posted nothing that he has not learnt from the press, which is laughable but some will believe.
I think I put that Friday thing to bed the other day as @MrJardine (welcome by the way) hasn't replied. I did also notice he'd changed his initial Katy Perry "Last Friday Night" tune trying to keep the troll bus going.

The sad (and pathetic) fact is that he knows what he's doing and that a few others will jump on the troll bus but it's to be expected I suppose.

Anyway, enough bitching as that's for RTG not here :emoticon-0105-wink:

It all hinges on the rumour that they are all here and attending the match.

If that is true, I'm inclined to believe that it is imminent and its all been deliberately timed to be concluded for when they were already planning on being here. I.e attending Saturdays game.

If they are not here now and are not here for the match it's either not happening imminently or it's going to be a very low key announcement.
