All I've heard is that him and Methven are mates and they both go to our games.

I don't know of any connection with the Dell boys though and can't imagine they'd work together.

I don't think anything will come of it tbh.

Possibly not. I don’t know. He did also state that Methven would not be involved at all after the takeover. The Dell boys are the financial clout Donald stays but O’Brien takes the post I’ve stated. It’s only what he’s told me. I’ve read both threads on rtg but don’t comment as it leads to grief as you well know.

would it not make sense to have some local business type who has a load of local/national contacts to do this job while we’re down here? I dare say you’ll need to get someone else involved when/if we get back to the promised land in a few years and require a bigger web.

Cheers mate, excellent post.

There are two things that jump out at me which I've been told and already posted.

1) I've been told Methven will be gone soon.

2) The Dell boys want an 'ambassador' who lives in the NE and can engage with local business, supporters groups, sponsors, etc.

It has to be said that a director doesn't have to invest or own a single share, its just another employee.

If they choose to employ a local wealthy supporter it would get my vote and I'd hope that's repeated throughout the club.

Why would these 3 from MSD list themselves on companies House, with the stadium of lights address.. When it's O'brien instead?

It makes perfect sense to me, a local rich businessman who has thrived in the local economy to make his millions. I assume he will be massively connected on a local level

SAFC brings in a huge amount of money, via the supporters, into the town. If they want to present a good face to supporters, many of whom live outside the city, visiting supporters, concert goers etc, they need to spend some money and sort the place out. The two routes to the ground from the town centre are disgraceful tbh. The little rail bridge is overcrowded after the game and the river bridge just as bad. The route through Sheepfolds is poor and the back alley behind the Deaf Club is shameful. The 'hot dog alley' is very poor for what was, and will be, a PL ground. And why has no one put a bloody decent path across the grass behind the hotel.

I think these people will electroshock the city back to life and not before time.

Do you have any idea on the sort of plans the new owners have for the sheepfolds? New roads? Buying the whole lot? Who even owns it?

I hope the council are forced into action tbh, they should be ashamed of the way they have let the city deteriorate.

As a ‘lurker’ of the other forum, I’m just please someone had a sort of inside knowledge they were willing to share. I find the takeover a hugely exciting prospect for Safc and definitely the city!

It sounds far more attractive than them taking us over outright!
