Is there a good reason why (I'm sure there is) the club didn't just put out a brief holding statement confirming the takeover and that it would be discussed in the coming weeks. That would have put to bed a lot of the "drama" we've seen over the last week or so.

I don't suppose they really care what fans on message boards think i know, but the whole place could use a lift!

Just been WhatsApping someone who's a clued up accountant and quite well known, if a little grumpy.

He confirms what I mentioned earlier, that the current inquest into staffing issues shows that not only are the new owners 'confirmed' but are 'at work'. I've absolutely no idea what will happen next but it seems they're examining how useful staff are at every level. I suspect they'll create a fair degree of bad feeling if they cull local people in the offices, ex-players at the club and anyone who's not hard hitting and professional.

But they'll bank on success, on the pitch, distracting the hoi poloi :)

So they are getting out another sweeping brush after Donald already used a sweeping brush when he took over? I hope they start with how we manage the catering at the ground - they could make plenty off wet sales if they had automated machines. And if they had a good team.

Right,I've just landed on here......see one or two familiar faces.:emoticon-0100-smile So,anything new?

Hi mate, nice to see you.

There's an eerie silence over the whole club, nowt coming out at all. The only lad I've heard from says people, at all levels of the club, are looking over their shoulders so much they're starting to mutate.

This info came from my good friend, ex-employer and in 2 years my future employer.

He's multi-millionaire Fabrizio Tonna and uses the same outside professional group, in America, used by people involved in the Dell organisation.

He repeated what had been openly discussed so I'm not breaking a confidence. This is the gist of the conversation ....

... These people are looking to regenerate the stadium and exterior including the immediate area, Sheepfolds was actually mentioned which I found amusing tbh. The metro station was also mentioned as was the Audi garage and the Hilton. The overall plan is to encourage investment from local/national/international business, local council, national government, local sports groups, etc to create a long term plan and legacy.

This is my own guesswork now ...

.... they want to attract money and other involvement so that people are engaged and not just waiting for handouts. They want to buy the hotel now while we're in L1 as progress up the leagues would give Short the upper hand in selling.

There's obviously loads I don't know but that's a bloody good start imo.

The Sheepfolds thing is a major factor. It was also a major factor why SJP was discounted. The Audi garage is toast - we could do with a massive Club House style bar for fans near the stadium, maybe some interesting architecture that can be seen from other side of the river...Get some of the wind power business back on the river as well.

To be fair neither Donald nor Methven have the experience to undertake something like this, hence the rash purchases, Alvarez case, crowd pleasing/annoying statements.

This will be more than just Janice from the ticket office and the relief tea lady imo.

Our corporate/hospitality/PR/sponsorship, etc all need to maximise revenue.

Not to mention our scouting and the people in charge of contracts, etc.

The finance officer needs to be looking at her performance and wondering what these sharp lads will think of it.
