Green Bay opened the NFL's 100th season with a 10-3 victory over Chicago.

I watched the game from the comfort of my bed. Good thing I did because it was a snoozefest.
It was sloppy offense as a byproduct of star players not playing in pre-season games.

My Jets didn't look good from the beginning of the game and scored no points off 4 turnovers. The kicker was dreadful and the defense went flat when C.J. Mosley went over with an injury. Buffalo scored 17 points in the second half to win. Not an encouraging start for the new head coach, Adam Gase.

Good win for the Vikings. Dalvin Cook is looking tasty, and Matterson showed promise too. Our defence was on point which is nice because when they're on form, they're very good. We could have probably got the shut out but seemed more interested in running down the clock in the 4th quarter, not that I can complain.

    Now to beat the Packers!

Redskins looked good first half but, as is tradition they stopped attacking and defending in any coherent fashion and ****ed it up... Oh well... I think it's Dallas next...

Eurgh Vikings haven't showed up at all for the first quarter. It could get messy...

If it continues, I'm going to watch another game... Any suggestions on who?

Defence was terrible for the first quarter then stepped up and didn’t allow another point, including a couple of turnovers.

The Diggs TD that got overturned was bollocks, but you always get that at Lambeau.

    Cook was great again.

Vikings were first and goal from the 8, 5 points down and Kirk Cousins throws the ball into double coverage and gets picked. I’d expect an undrafted rookie to throw that away let alone a QB on an 84m contract. Add in him getting picked throwing into triple coverage earlier in the game, fumbling the ball in back to back plays, under or over throwing receivers all game and checking down on **** like 3rd and 20 and he is basically the reason the Vikings lost the game.

His decision making is pretty poor, I wonder why it's so bad... He's an experienced QB, surely by now he should be capable of making better decisions?

Watching Saints v Rams, miss having Teddy... At least he got us into the play-offs and a kick away from beating the Seahawks in the play-off.

He is just poor, there is no defending him anymore.

Can see another 8-8/9-7 type season and then clean house. Zimmer, Cousins and Spielman all gone if that is the final record.

Don't put the blame entirely on Kirk. The defence conceded 21 points in about 10 minutes (admittedly they played well in the other three quarters), we conceded over 100 yards in penalties (again) and our kicker missed two kicks which would have taken us to only one behind and thus able to win with a field goal... Which he then probably would have missed.

You wanna talk about QBs look no further than Eli Manning. What an absurdity it is that he is still a franchise QB. Absolutely stealing a living- atrocious.

BTW- anyone think we should have the prediction league back?

Despite the Vikings being **** in lots of areas, the refs calling every marginal thing against them and the 21-0 head start they allowed the Packers they still managed to be the better team overall for most of the game, and have a few moments where they could've won the game. This is where the $84m man should be able to step up and make at least 1 ****ing play to get the team over the line. He didn't and it is becoming clearer and clearer that he is just a stat whore and is a glorified game manager that they have spunked far too much money on. Hindsight is wonderful but it is now obvious to me that if they had chosen to pay Keenum and then used the $15m a year they'd saved on upgrading the O-line or D-line in FA they would be in with a much better chance of winning a SB than they are now.

This team is very good in enough areas to be a serious contender, they won't be because they are the cursed Vikings and because of kursed Cousins.

You are probably right on all accounts but we can't do anything about it now so the best we can do is support kirk for as long as he is our QB. We'll have good moments, we'll have bad moments, that's the beauty of American football... As long as we win the game I'm seeing in America in August! Plus, it's probably best to get a game like this at the start of the season...

At least we're not dolphins fans.

At least the Dolphins know they are **** and don't have any hope/expectation for the year. The Vikings do this a lot, build a good enough team to maybe be a contender, show some promise to build the hopes up only to then **** it all up in some stupid way. I remember telling you a couple of years ago when you were first getting interested in the NFL to not choose the Vikings as they are destined to be ****s for eternity.

As a Niners man (cheers, Dad!) I’ve had to endure their demise since I started following NFL these past few years but they’ve gone 2-0 and that terrifying optimism comes to the surface.

Where do you see the Niners this year guys- can they get to an 8-8 season or better or is it a false dawn at this stage?

I do think Kyle Shanahan will eventually have a really big influence on this team. Hope Jimmy G stays healthy so we can judge them in the big moments.
