Would be really keen for any answers from both those that voted leave and remain (and continue to maintain that view).

Leavers, what do you think are the best benefits/opportunities of exiting the EU? Would you take a 'no deal' and if so, why?

Remainers, what are your concerns with exiting the EU? Are you concerned with a 'no deal' and if so, why?

That you at the rugby last night?

Oh **** rumbled. I saw a few mackems swanning around like it’s was some achievement to ‘invade our turf’.. when in reality they looked more confused to be in a full premiership stadium as it’s been so long...

Incredibly harsh. First of all, if left wingers had any political sense, knowledge or integrity they should be overjoyed with Boris Johnson (in comparison with other conservative candidates.) He has always, throughout his political career, been a liberal minded Conservative. In both his Eton and Oxford days when he was registered as a Liberal, his London Mayoral terms when he was not afraid to spend money and openly criticised austerity measures. Now as Prime Minister he is publicly supporting higher public spending. He's essentially doing everything that most of the public have been crying about for years. He's always been consistent in this matter. But, the left, ever tribal would rather chop off their hand than admit his spending plans are positive.

I've even heard Labour voters argue "HOW CAN WE ARRORD THIS?!" A line they've been triggered by for literal years. Laughing stock of a party, thoroughly deserve all the seats they will lose in a month or two.

However, going back to Johnson. Please, present a single way a leave PM could both support his own political beliefs in our parliament and actually pass a single bill? He's entered the arena with a mandate from the public, but a 400 MP deficit in the House. He would have to sit down with every MP in there and try and bribe the Liberals more than the EU does.

This has transcended the EU for me, this is now an open debate and discussion on our parliamentary system. Pass the post is dead, it's dead in the water, our nation and all our former colonies must suffer under the weight of this antiquated corpse. We should turn this debate around after Brexit, we should turn it into a new way we can form our governments and we should discuss openly a constitution and a new way in which we select our MPs.

The thing which is making me sick is when remainers claim incompetence is the cause of this mess. You're being deceitful, underhanded, and incredibly tribal. Just admit you're stopping Brexit, don't blame the Prime Minister you cowards.
I don't believe it is harsh. There is also no need to insult me.

I am, by the way, not a left winger. I wasn't left wing when I was young. I am now almost 60 and a property owning business man. I should be Tory fodder.

As for Mr Johnson, he inherited a majority of one
It should have been obvious that governing was going to require diplomacy and consensus. Instead, he opted for authoritarian autocracy. Unsurprisingly, it didn't work. He has turned a one person majority into a 30 to 40 person minority. He has tied his personal prestige to goals he cannot accomplish. The opposition can call an election at a time of their choosing. He can't. If the opposition wait until 1 November to call the election, he will be campaigning as the least successful PM ever.

I stand by my appraisal of colossal incompetence. That would also be my assessment if I were a leave supporters.

That would all make sense, if the house was in anyway reasonable and worked as it should. It doesn't.

They won't accept Brexit under any circumstances. If you try and be diplomatic you fizzle out in a few months as we saw with May. I can understand a different approach, but of course remainers would opt to maintain the status quo.

Once again, he is utilising a completely different method to try and get it done. One thing it has achieved is extremely positive polling and a possibility that the Brexit Party will collaborate with them, if that's the case he will certainly come back with a majority of leavers.

As it stands, that house majority was a complete joke. The house of commons is made up of around 250 closet Lib Dems who are scared of losing their seats.

The reality is that they know brexit is a devasting mistake ... im sorry but the man in the street isnt worth listening to.. just tell the public to stfu

<laugh>

At least I admit I'm a ****, you are a hypocrite if you don't admit the same, if you say all left wingers lack integrity or sense <cheers>

And you Brexit lot need to stop with this fappening over how Norway operate.

I post on Not606, of course I'm a **** <laugh>

I live here, Britain would never operate like Norway does. The biggest joke of the Scottish referendum was when they claimed they could operate like Norway. <laugh><laugh><laugh>

You pay for everything here, doctors appointments the lot and you pay more tax than anywhere else. The Scots wouldn't know what to do with themselves. Scotland and Ireland expecting a European welfare system while maintaining a British style tax is just laughable.

But it's not just Norway, the Netherlands and many other European nations operate under a more modern compact parliament. I feel like we defend the Commons because it's old at times.

The Police should wear red armbands and beat them up with truncheons. ****ing tax paying incompetents.

People really think they deserve everything for their pissy amount of tax. Thank god the majority if people in parliment are good enough to try and save their jobs for it.

As you say, give the compositipn of the house it was never going to approve no deal do or die. Tying your authority to acheiving it was stupid. Regardless of your ideology, commiting yourself to something that is bound to fail is dumb.

And if the questiion is how do you driver the will of the people, that isn't hard. Give them a referemdum with the 3 deliverable options ( the best deal you can secure, no deal and remain) and make the outcome binding. You could get that through the house. The only problem for the rabid ideologues is that it is only guarranteed to deliver the will of the people and not necessarilly brexit.

That referendum question is simply not viable at all and you know it. You are splitting the leavers in two and completely giving the advantage to the remainers, once again, only a remainer who want's to maintain the status quo would support a weak prime minister who begs the opposition for a reprieve, then would opt for a second referendum which supports their favored outcome.

Boris Johnson is doing, as the leader of the party, the only thing he can do. Set themselves up for a second election so he can bring in like minded MP's as opposed to the Cameronite's he's had hanging on for the past three years. Once again, if the 21 Conservative MP's are going to ignore the whip and act like a block of independents, what is the purpose of keeping them in the party? Boris entered the house with a 400 MP minority. The best he can achieve is putting on a strong front for the leave voter base and by polling figures he has achieved results from that so far.

This all boils down to this, if we had a repeat of the referendum tomorrow, leave would likely win, if we had an election tomorrow, the Conservatives would win. But we have a minority so profoundly arrogant right now they will accept nothing but their own way.

The only way a referendum with more than one option would work is this: every option that finishes last is eliminated and we have a final binding referendum on the last two options. But that would go on for literal weeks. If the opposition had their way we would have a referendum with about 500 options on the paper, ensure it never ever gets to the final two.

I am not tying to split the vote. A viable questiion would be:

As between leaving with the deal negotiated by the government or remaining, would you prefer to leave or remain ?

As between leaving wiith no deal or training, would you prefer to leave or remain ?

If there is a majority for either leave option, we leave. If there is a majority for botha leave options, biggest majority wins.

It isn't rocket science.

Your right it isn't rocket science. Yet you still put remain in.

Wet have decided to leave. If we were to have a referendum it should be on the tour of leave

Do you agree that it is posisie that a majority of the voters alive today would prefer to remain ?

If so, do you regard what the voters want now as more or less important than what voters wanted in the past ?
