You're correct that they know brexit is a devastating mistake, but the main reason people voted for brexit was because they weren't being listened to. Austerity, tax evasion, universal credit, horrific London-centricity.....all dictated by the Tories in Westminster and not the E.U. Between them, Cameron and Johnson own this whole fiasco.

The same can apply to any GE.

We need to get on with leaving. Maybe if people who voted to remain put as much effort in coming up with an agreeable deal then the country could start to reunite.

why would they when they don't want to leave in the first place ? especially if they have calculated that their people will suffer from it regardless. We need to forget about this flag waving nonsense and just stay where we are

Well more people at the time did want to leave so let's not forget that either and also the people betraying the will of the referendum should never be forgotten.

People have different views on all aspects of life but they way certain sections of our society has behaved suggests the left has gone nuts.

if the people have changed their mind there no issue if that's genuinely the concern ! all I have heard is this will of the people crap... nobody gives a **** about the will of the people enough to check again. Its more the case they want to win for personal issues and are **** scared of losing that argument . I don't give a **** tbh but hearing farage talking about taking control of our borders makes me sick. that line alone got every racist in the country into vote and it made the difference. one even murdered a young politician over all this and it wasn't that **** unfortunately. then my david Cameron seems to have hidden away from all this … another **** along with the last leader may the fox hunter and the now dictator Johnson should all be executed .

So close, but the reason people voted leave is because they wanted to leave the EU.

I mean, it's not rocket science. It's something you simply can't fathom, isn't it?

That simply wouldn't work. Neither side would accept such a referendum result and either way it would not be accepted because it has the possibility for the UK to leave the EU and parliament ain't about that.

They just made leaving the EU with no deal illegal for Christ sake. I mean, it's akin to walking into the sex offenders ward of a prison with your pants round your ankle and asking them not to rape your ass. Remainers just literally made us jailbait.

I can't fathom why folk would vote to make themselves poorer, make us more dependent than ever on London, potentially disturb peace in Ireland, breathe new life into Scottish nationalism and create a giant fissure in society breeding an 'us and them' mentality.
You imply that people voted for brexit after considering all the pros and cons and deciding the country would be better off outside the E.U. That's nonsense. Most people had little idea about the operations, benefits and costs of the E.U - they still don't and don't care.

The question is, though, what is realistically achievable. There is no point choosing something that you can't deliver. Boris has just learned this.

The question I proposed could get through Parliament and would resolve the issue. The question you have proposed wouldn't get through Parliament. The choice is to pick amongst the possible options, even though you may not like them, or to choose an impossible option because (even though it is useless) it makes you feel good. Stated differently, you can live in the real world or Boris land.

This idea of three options is clearly flawed because you are splitting the leave vote. That would be totally undemocratic and would look like some kind third world country vote rigging. You can't do that. Its handy that isn't it when you have a tight vote. Rerun the vote with different parameters, giving an almighty advantage to an option that has already been voted out. What kind of logic is this?

Perhaps you can do it but only on the proviso that if the combined leave options outweigh the remain option, then the remain option is eliminated and we vote again until we get down to singular option. A very convoluted way of re-running a vote I have to say. Perhaps though the only way to put the remoaners to bed once and for all.

Also all this nonsense about the age of voters is completely irrelevant. I've said many times every vote is a snapshot in time. That is a never ending dark path where no vote is ever enacted. With any vote, by the next morning the voting demographic changes. It really is a ridiculous point remoaners are clinging to. Its like every vote that ever gets run waking up the next day saying "can we run it again, the demographic has changed and it might change the result". Its laughable.

Please re-read my post. It would not split the leave voters.

Voters would be able to vote for both leave options, one leave option or no leave option (that is, vote remain). I have set out one set of questions that would work. There are others. You could also use a single transferable vote. It would do much the same but I like the simplicity of actually voting for each option.

With respect to your comment that referenda shouldn't be routinely re-run, I tend to agree. Normally a referendum expresses a principle and Parliament works out the details. In this case, however, this system has failed (largely due to the ERG, if anyone is interested in apportioning blame). As the politicians seem to have no way forward, the only group left that is capable of making a decision in the electorate. Inconvenient, obviously, but the only viable option at the moment

I still think this dilutes the leave option unfairly. As I say if a vote is to be re-run, then there is a very simple way round that so if the total of the leave votes collectively outnumber the remain vote, you simply lop off the remain option. Then everyone votes again on the two leave options, and we then get a fair representation of how the whole country want to leave, including the remainers. There is no reason I can see why remain voters would object to that.

This is so true and a bit of a disgrace. Lets be honest though this has been going on a long time and Brexit is just another topic they try to corrupt. I cringed watching BBC News and Sky News the other day with the anti Brexit bias.

Plenty like to pedal the rubbish about it being a racist vote or based on lies told about the NHS etc. Its bad enough I have to listen to that utter bollocks, but then you have non stop doom and gloom from the Sky and BBC detailing how its all going to implode. The very same people who moaned about NHS lies don't seem to have any issue with this completely biased reporting. Its almost like its ok because it furthers their agenda...
