I said that there's a reason that NO team activated his £25m buy out fee.

I also said that he shot himself in the foot by turning down a £70,000 per week over a year and a half ago...he did that assuming that someone would have bought him and pay him the £180,000 he was after last year (like most on this board claimed would happen last summer) but instead only Roma came in, refused to trigger his release clause and offered him less than he is currently paid...that seems like he miscalculated to me...it has cost him £6m so far.

Toby is a good player but he is 30 years old and has had a series of injuries. I doubt that Real or Barca will come in for him but other clubs could well do.

I know you're in mourning after the loss of Luiz and Hazard but do try and keep up.

I've said it before, but Spurs are like the Arsenal of 10-12 years ago. Shiny new stadium, team that had peaked, and now letting their best players run down their contracts and trying to get replacements on the cheap.

Lots of similarities other than the trophies of course.

Ultimately the player wanted to come it doesn't matter what Piskie the Vegan in Cornwall thinks or Bobby who works at the Great Wall of China takeaway down the road thinks.

That clause was offered because that's where we are going...Lisbon's loss and ultimately Bruno's loss and he obviously knows it

Eriksen wants to leave too but that aint happening if perez is only offering levy 50p and a packet of monster munch.

Levy wasnt pulling the wool over anyones eyes with his 65m offer which was really 45 <laugh>

I agree you though Bob... ultimately...if Levy dished out that little bit more...we could have a much better squad.

Jamie O'Hara was co hosting talkShite this morning as I was driving to work .... he got talking about Spurs player contracts and that they were heavily incentivised based which put off some top players from coming or indeed staying ...

That’s because “top” players want to be given money whether they win anything or not.

I prefer our way, even if it means that we’re going to lose out on cracking performers such as Ozil, Sanchez and Pogba.
