Isn't loaning out a centre half too?

Based on what I’ve seen to date of Magennis and Eaves we’d probably be loaning out our most effective striker.

It's transfer deadline day (again), so we find out today if Henriksen, Milinkovic or Dicko will be shipped out.

Grant McCann considering signing a free agent as Nouha Dicko freed to leave

The Tigers' head coach is considering adding another forward as he prepares to let trio leave

Grant McCann is weighing up a deal to sign a free agent to strengthen Hull City’s attacking line as he prepares to offload Markus Henriksen, Nouha Dicko and David Milinkovic.

McCann has sanctioned a clear-out of his City squad ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline, with talks held over the weekend that could see City move on a trio of players no longer in the head coach’s plans.

Henriksen’s likely exit has been in the pipeline throughout the summer but in the last seven days McCann has also opted to let Dicko and Milinkovic find new clubs.

That would reduce City’s attacking options but McCann admits he could yet redress the balance with a new signing of his own.

The Tigers are still able to sign unattached players at any stage and a number of potential targets are being considered.

“We’re quite comfortable with what we’ve got,” said McCann. “We may look to bring one in in the forward area of the pitch. I haven’t really made my mind up.

“We know we’ve got the five that can play up there and also Keane Lewis-Potter breaking through.

"Jon (Toral) can play in a front three as well.

“There’s been a few (free agents) put to us but the trouble is that you don’t know where they’re at in terms of fitness. Some of them probably haven’t played in three months.

“It’s whether or not we take a risk in bringing one in. They might not be up to speed for four weeks. We’ll make a decision over the weekend.”

Although over three weeks have passed since City’s transfer deadline on August 8th, a summer of trading will conclude with the closure of the European windows today.

City remain eager to sell former captain Markus Henriksen to remove one of the highest earners from the club’s wage bill, while loan deals have also been discussed for Dicko and Milinkovic.

A season-long loan deal for Dicko would take him to the end of his City contract and there is now every chance the forward has played his final game for the club two years after joining the Tigers from Wolves for £3.5m.

“There is talk of a club taking Markus. I’ll speak with Lee (Darnbrough) and see where we are,” added McCann.

“There’s conversations about Nouha going out on loan. Conversations about David going out on loan as well.

“I think it’s important that they do go out. Both of them haven’t really played in a year and they’ll be thinking where is the chance coming from.

“I’ll be fair with them and hopefully get them moved on to play some football.”

City will today check on the injuries suffered by Matthew Pennington, Reece Burke and Jon Toral in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Millwall, while also investigating the hamstring problem that ruled out Stephen Kingsley.

All four could join Josh Magennis in missing the home game with Wigan on September 15th after the forward was sent off for two bookable offences at The Den.

I'd put money on that free agent being Gary Hooper.

You’re probably right. I think I’d prefer to keep Dicko if I’m honest.

Roma have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan on a season-long loan deal.

Liverpool youth forward Bobby Duncan is close to joining Fiorentina on a permanent transfer for €2m (he's Steven Garrard's cousin and pissed off everyone at Liverpool, when he claimed they were holding on to him against his will, even though he's only been there five minutes and he's a Liverpool fan).

Must have been as they are the only players you can sign outside of the window.
