Wow - some sour grapes there

My view is that it was actually Wednesday trying to rough US up for much of the first half

Clearly both managers told their respective players to cool it at half time - quite a surprise that there wasn't a sending off

I was also surprised at how so many Wednesday players - bar Bannan and Fletcher - seemed to not care about winning - a real lack of energy and positivity

Thought we looked much better balanced in the 2nd half. 1st half there always seemed to be acres of space in front of Manning for Wednesday to exploit

Great to win at Hillsborough again albeit against a pretty poor Wednesday side

Well reading those posts from Wednesday fans we must be doing something right....long may it last...

Also shows the value of the BFG....might not be the quickest or most comfortable on the ball but he knows how to beast a center forward.... just what we need and 3 at the back suits him with hall and Barbet either side of him...

I disagree about 1st half Bob we totally controlled it and with a proper ref we would not have been losing. The control of the whole game was amazing, especially taking into account the very biased ref and continual fouling
I wouldnt say we totally controlled it at all but that's opinions I suppose. They got some good balls into the box early doors, had a scramble on the line. Pressed leistner as the central of the back 3. We seemed to take control when bannan got booked after the altercation with hugill. He was pulling the strings before that, stretching and widening the back 3. I agree we wouldnt have been losing as the ref was ****e but totally controlling the 1st half is not what I witnessed. 2nd half yes. Calm and collected.

I will say this though, 2 away games I've watched against Stoke and Sheff Wed. 2 different formations and 2 different sets of personel (to an extent). I am very pleased with what I've seen. How we have managed the games and how we played. Even the losses I've witnessed on TV, I found lots and lots of positives.

From what I’ve seen, backed up by the stats on the Beeb etc., we’re playing decent football, keeping better possession and creating good chances. I reckon the philosophy is good, the players are starting to get it and more consistent chances will come.

Let's hope we can keep it going for longer than our good period last season. If Hugill stays fit, in form and gets the chances he is getting now, we should do all right if the defense also cuts out most of the errors. Tough ask maybe. I think Hugill is key because we don't seem to have proper cover for him.

Just seen the highlights and can't believe the penalty there were 2/3 players in front of him plus he was a long way out?
Thank goddess we didn't lose by that decision. COYRS
The replay has a limited view but it looks like no one really touched him. Even if it was outside the box, I would have found it strange if the ref gave a free kick even.

I hope Warburton is reading this.....how much we need the BFG2.

He must be a different beast when away, as he has never struck me as particularly nasty CD. But then I don't know the black arts

It’s a bit of a myth because he looks like a football hooligan so fans will have preconceptions just as if a winger rocks up with pink boots and blonde highlights you’ll assume he’s a bit of a tart. He’s a better footballer and not as much of a ‘thug’ as people give him credit for.
