You guys have absolutely no clue about how to negotiate effectively obviously <doh>

There will be a deal at the 11th hour as the EU are just as terrified about the prospect of No Deal.
 
After thirty years of negotiating property deals and I think I can tell a bull$^/**<r!

I have been effectively and competently negotiating deals for twenty years, some ironically with the government and the European Commission.

To claim the Tories have negotiated effectively is farcical and to claim that BJ is capable of anything of much purpose or that the leaders of France, Germany and all the others will cower at the last moment is also farcical.
 
How very dare the prime minister attempt to carry out what was clearly instructed by the people.......



Meanwhile Teresa May is still trying to cancel her gym membership .......she has just agreed to pay until 2027 and if the gym doesn’t agree to her cancelling then she will attempt to renegotiate a compromise.

This is where so many Brexiteers tie themselves up in knots. Arguing for democracy on the one hand but happily riding roughshod over British democratic institutions, procedures and conventions on the other.

The reason why the negotiations haven't been effective is due to our yellow bellied MPs demanding and legislating against the option of No Deal which is the ultimate sanction. The EU ran rings around the PM knowing that she would have to take what she was given! That's why we are in this mess. Thank god we now have a Prime Minister who is not afraid to call their bluff.

The reason May failed is that she tried to go it alone without any concensus from Parliament and was then surprised she met opposition when she put it to the vote.BJ is doing exactly the same but not giving our democratically elected representatives any say in the matter.

Try telling the poor sods at the bottom of the pile it won't make a blind bit of difference.The self serving Tories will no doubt make a pile out of the carnage which results.

The reason the negotiations haven't been effective is that Theresa May and her ministers showed contempt instead of respect for the other side and made an untenable agreement.

Essentially a wasted three years.

It's pretty sad that as a nation we can't be bothered to have another go at doing it properly and would rather cut our nose off to spite our face. Not very Great Britain after all.

Not really. There is nothing particularly democratic or conventional about the way the referendum was conducted or about the way the outcome has been handled by the government and continues to be.

The most severe consequence of Brexit looks to be reigniting the Troubles in Northern Ireland and the potential break up of the Union.

I think we need to work with the EU to figure out how that is going to be solved before we go at it like a bull in a China shop, which is all Boris is doing. There is no great strategy or negotiation tactic going on.

It’s shameful and embarrassing for our country.

There can be no reasoned argument about changing our minds on the referendum on democratic grounds from anyone who supports the government achieving Brexit in the manner the current Prime Minister is attempting.
 
Dear old Johnny Major seems to have got his knickers in a right old twist about this and is now seeking a judicial challenge. Its a bit rich of him though as he did exactly the same thing in 1997 so that his Government wouldn't have to face Parliamentary scrutiny over the Cash for Questions scandal. Another example of hypocrisy from an arch Remainer! Just goes to show that our whole political classes are rotten to the core.

For the most part, Westminster politicians are self serving and contemptible. Particularly Tories, Blairites and latterly Lib Dem leaders. Why does this come as any surprise?
