The state of that pitch. Also, Moran sprinting off the pitch for safety at the end <laugh>

My dad bought me and my brother that Pompey shirt. We were both guilty of wearing it, but there's actual photographic evidence of my brother wearing it. Not of me though :bandit:

We might well have been at this game, in the Pompey end. I'd have been six though, so I don't remember.

Here's a funny stat; in the 88/89 season, Chelsea finished top and Man City were second... Of Division Two! (No joke either)

For me taking three points against the might of Manchester United and another 3 against Tottenham far surpasses beating Pompey at this moment in time. And as history suggests, it is not as if Saints will get that much further in this competition as they are not regulars in semi finals or finals.

But we are likely to win the Premier League of course.

Of course. I would have thought getting as high a points total in the PL far outweighs the Carabou Cup. So that means beating Manchester United once in a while, and Tottenham. Of course it would be great to win the competiton but that is a tall order as it seems to head to Manchester or Chelsea quite often these days.

We've made one final out of the past three?

Name a team that's not City who beat that currently :)

And four in the past 43 years, so that´s an average of one final per 10 years. It would be wonderful to become regular finalists and winners, but that is turning history on its head.
