Only everything else isn't subjective ... nowhere near ...sometimes there is down right cheating and the human eye (ref) can be conned ... the hand of God goal evidences .. In a couple of years time it will be fine ....works fine in other sports despite similar knee jerking when first introduced
The only thing it will end or minimise is leaping to your feet when the ball hits the net. Now you can wait 5 minutes for a wrong decision. Great.
Human error ... VAR captured the evidence ... Will need a settling in period but more positives than negatives
I don't think it works that well in rugby union tbh. Most refs refer far too many decisions to the video and aren't doing their jobs. Nigel Owen is an honourable exception. Game time has increased significantly, the decisions are still not always correct and this is in a sport where there are lots of breaks in play. In football it's a recipe for chaos.
I agree with this. Why make a decision on the field when it can be sent upstairs? I think it works quite well in cricket because like goal line technology the vast majority of decisions (which are LBW) are not subjective
Works even better when a captain chucks his review away on a decision that was never going to be overturned! The Irish have it right in hurling and Garlic football I think. It's only used to decide if the ball went through the posts.
