Seriously though when I was young peppers were fancy and avocado was a colour!
That's what I meant by colour. But going back to food, there were seasons and not so much food with air miles apart from bananas. My dad worked on Humber Street and I can't really remember peppers etc becoming commonplace till the late 80s, and that was when I worked in London. It's all gone to pot now with asparagus and strawberries all year round.When I was Young pepper was white and made you sneeze. Black pepper was an exotic, yet to be discovered condiment.
