What makes you think I grew up? Seriously though when I was young peppers were fancy and avocado was a colour!
When I was Young pepper was white and made you sneeze. Black pepper was an exotic, yet to be discovered condiment. Remember when the “in” colour for bathrooms was avocado? Looks awful now.
That's what I meant by colour. But going back to food, there were seasons and not so much food with air miles apart from bananas. My dad worked on Humber Street and I can't really remember peppers etc becoming commonplace till the late 80s, and that was when I worked in London. It's all gone to pot now with asparagus and strawberries all year round.
One of the best cruises you could have in back in the 1960s and 1970s were on the banana boats. Quite a bit of time in each port. Really great value if you had the weeks to spare necessary. Used to know a retired bloke who used to go every year.
Mixed Grill £7.99 before the game tonight in Avenue pub on Chants Ave. Good value. Pay more then that for a toasted sandwich on Prinny Ave,

Size isn’t everything. Words many on here will have found comforting when whispered by their lady friends.
