Well it defintely would nullify the Brexit party threat but as I say the two risks are, one having the election on the day after we have left - ports blocked, flights ****ed etc (there was talk of having it as a bank holiday to prevent the markets tanking) and secondly the fact that the opponents of no deal know this is the plan so will be prepared to go to equally nuclear in their options to prevent it.
I’m leaving the country - actually on holiday until 6/11, if I can get back in.

Why would anyone want an election after we have left. <yikes> it's too late we've left,
Because he has a majority of 1 (actually he doesn’t, that included the DUP) and may think a good time to go is after delivering Brexit and before the nightmare of what we have done to ourselves starts to become too obvious to ignore.

Because they have a majority of 1 and if we leave with No Deal then it's going to be bumpy at the very least in the short term - so try and get a majority and 5 years now than have an election forced on them in the midst of **** happening.

Doesn't make any sense and won't happen, they will leave it a few months to see some results, and when all the scaremongering **** comes out to be lies, the Tories will get re-elected with a 100+ majority and Corbyn will be back to meeting the PLO as a back bench MP.

Your prediction is duly noted and referenced.

Bit puzzled by this early election talk. Will Boris get the required 2/3 of MPs in Parliament to approve a snap election? Only other way to have a snap election is to have a vote of no confidence, going by this article I've just read ....

https://nortonview.wordpress.com/2016/10/08/repealing-the-fixed-term-parliaments-act/

Like May's last election, in reality it's unlikely an opposition will not vote for an election, would look very weak espcially after constantly calling for one. Possibly the only people who would oppose it are Change UK's (or whatever they're called) MPs (out of interest). I guess the only exeption to that would be if it was being clearly called to force through No Deal and parliment needed more time to stop it.

You don’t know me very well. That’s me being friendly. I’m actually less pissed off since I came to terms with the fact we are about 70% likely to leave in 2019.

I must admit I am almost looking forward to the Leaver crew trying to wriggle out of responsibility for the nightmare that is coming our way. Almost ..... it’s my country too.
I beg to differ on who's responsibility it is for any potential nightmare we may have after we leave, from day one the remainers have been storing up problems for the UK with their refusal to accept the referendum result.
P.S. Glad you are less pissed off about out us leaving the EU tell your friends.
I've had a word with Boris who promises to let you back into the UK after your Holls seeing as you are a Leeds fan.

Any nightmare is the sole fault of remain, you blocked any deal, blocked everything, no deal is all your fault, suck it up you and the remain muppets, brought us here, you wanted this.
Well you got it, so be happy.

I thought it was Boris and his mates not voting with the Conservative Leadership that blocked the deal option, silly me I must have been mistaken.

Well that for me might be key - Tories I think will want a snap election - a majority of 1 will be gone soon and better to announce election than have it forced on you- espcially in chaos post no deal. So they will want to have just left and then have election as then there is no point to Brexit party.

However surely no one now thinks a deal is an option? Unless Boris can get a backstop through parliment (which only seems likely if the alternative is No Brexit) then it will be no deal coupled with what they're already doing - blaming the EU for no deal.

If it's no deal then parliment will do everything it can to stop it and if it's nucelar option of no deal then the opposition will go for nuclear option of VONC - then the main thing will be how to stop no deal happening by default during an election which is where a GONU might come in unless legislation can achieve the same.

So if it was an election after 31 October and we haven't left then suddenly Brexit party becomes a major player again. Tories will go for a it's a remainer parliment stopping us from carrying out Brexit so make sure you show them who's in control by voting for us to deliver it. But Brexit party will go for that's two times the deadline has been missed (complete with all the times the Tories have said no ifs and no but's we're leaving by 31 October) and so you can't trust the Tories to deliver Brexit.

Actually might do a small tweak on this as the deal might not be dead. If it was a deal then I think in the end it would basically be May’s deal but with a time limit on the backstop (10 years say). I guess that would accomplish leaving on 31st and Boris as a Brexiteer might be able to get that through parliament.
