I think its abit ****, a picture of the sky and a bit of WHL roof, blinded by floodlights! ...what a load of pants! Submit suggestions for a better one below. ...however its not as bad the Goons, who have a peeping tom looking over a fence!
Appreciate the input Luke, but the sceptic in me can't help but think there's a sly dig, picking black and white photo's of the last time we were any good!
I think it's fine. The last thing I'd want on this board is a cringey montage like the others have. Although if we were to change it, something like this would be acceptable please log in to view this image
Although if we were to change it, something like this would be acceptable ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Precisely Schteff, good work. Why can't that be on the Jumbotron in the pic...and turn those bloody lights off so we can see it! Atm imo, your eye isn't drawn to anything.
I quite like the current one. If people want it changed though, then add a few suggestions on here and then we'll come up with some way of picking a new one. Probably a poll. It can take a while to get these things changed though and there are parameters for image size.
It's a background, it's not meant to stand out! If it did it'd detract from the text Pedantry aside, if we can find another simple one it might be nice to change it up a bit.
A bigger better version of this would suffice.... though it is a black and white image harking back to the glory days again. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7a/Billy_Bremner_Dave_Mackay.jpg
That one for me. Although I'm a very late product of the '80s and therefore weren't around to actually witness what he and his team achieved, I've read, watched and been told enough to appreciate the fantastic team that was around and how they really put Spurs on the map as the great club it's recognised as today. If someone could enlarge it via Photoshop or whatever program they have and perhaps add some photos of the '61 squad and others alongside, It'd definitely have my vote.
Background photo has got to be of the one and only Hoddle, surely? Or how about that photo of Gazza crying at the World Cup Finals? That would probably be more fitting of achievements in the EPL thus far
The Bill Nich at the gates pic is quality Ensil, but I think it'd have to have some editing done to it, as it wouldn't fit very well. Anyone any good at that sort of thing?
I can Photoshop pretty well PNP, though I don't have it on my work PC. Might give it a try later or over the weekend if I have time.
They need to be about 1900 pixels wide apparently, Ensil. I think that the top part of any picture will be obscured by the blue bit at the top of the forum too, so you may wish to take that into account, too.
Very nice job Ensil, but I think that part of the THFC writing could end up in the border at the top of the page and I'd worry about how much of Bill we'd lose to the actual forum text. It's a shame that there's not some way to try it out, as all background changes go through Mick.
I would just like to see a couple of Quotes in a decent typeface. This would remind all those who visit what Spurs are about. e.g Bill Nicholson : "It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory." and Danny Blanchflower: "The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom." Those two would do for me, up there to remind us everytime.
Perhaps if someone could put them up either side of the Bill Nich gates pic that Ensil edited it would work, Spurf? Fancy giving it a go, Ensil? Maybe white writing on a navy background?
