Was having a conversation there with a wee girl I work with and she thought it was hilarious that we got fruit & veg delivered to our door and that we used to have a butcher do the same.

Round our way we have the fruit & veg man, the lemonade man, used to have the video man and the butcher drive round in their vans to deliver. I remember as a kid going out early in the morning and swiping the milk and pure orange, or putting them all on peoples doorsteps. But do they still have milkmen?

Seems like another profession killed off by those superstores!

I remember all the things you mention when I was little, the video man was awesome!

We have a local milkman but we don't use him and it's really rare I see him trundling around in his battery powered rollerskate.

The number of milkman doing the rounds started declining after Benny Hill passed away.

There's an old boy still plies his trade arond Turnpike Lane in North London, in a knackered looking milkfloat. I think he's a one man band, and I've no idea where the dairy is. I think Unigate sold all their rounds off as franchises 20 odd year ago.

they still exist, there was a campaign locally to bring back the milkman.

i have tried to use the milkman at 2 different addresses, but they only do 2/3 day weeks

having kids still was having to go out and buy milk, easier to buy the 6 pinters
