Players are not as loyal now as they used to be. I recall some players who stayed with their teams and nothing could have prized them away in their heyday. I have also known Arsenal to have ups and downs but not for a long long time now. I felt 2 or 3 seasons ago that Wenger is running out of steam and maybe should soon move on or should have done by now,I can't quite decide. It's difficult to replace quality players.

All of us can agree with that. You didn't do it last season, and not only have all of those clubs strengthened (having started off with far stronger squads than yours), but you have weakened considerably.
I don't think Fab went far enough with his comments. He would have upset the Gooners far more had he been more truthful and said that Arsenal would finish outside the top 4 this season. To the extent that he didn't say that, he's not being as disloyal to his former club as he could have been. Nonetheless, I still believe he is twisting the knife, especially as he is one of the major reasons why Arsenal are not going to be competitive this season.
It would be like Modric joining Chelsea and then having a pop at us by saying, "Spurs can't now win the title!"

Cesc's comments were nothing more than a simple observation. He wasn't 'twisting the knife' whatsoever.
It's the bitterness of those who want to make something out of it that it is sad.

He's as entitled as anyone else to have his view - after all, he is an Arsenal fan.
I see nothing wrong with his comments whatsoever.
They are a simple observation, anyone would come to the same conclusion.

As a Arsenal fan - he's entitled to his view about our club.

But I think we have to be realistic.
I don't think Cesc needs to justify his move, deep down we all knew for the last 2-3 years that he wanted to go home.
We just tried our hardest to hang on to him.
But ultimately, if a player's heart is not in it, it's best he goes.

If he loved Barcelona so much, then why did he allow Arsenal to poach him in the first place?

Wasn't Nasri only offered about £10k more by City?
Perhaps he got sick of being shifted out of position for someone that openly wanted to leave the club?
He started last season very well playing in the middle, but as soon as Fabregas was back he was shunted out again.
Don't get me wrong, Nasri appears to be an objectionable little twat, as virtually everyone in football seems to hate him, but I think that Fabregas' actions were very, very similar to his.
