In football the technology can be a hindrance at times. Slow motion replays of tackles and handballs often give a skewed perspective. It can seem as if the offending player has had time to make a calculated decision. I don't see how those kind of decisions - where the intention of the player is the issue - are improved by referral to an off field official who spends time poring over TV images where the perspective can be very different depending on the angle of the footage, the speed it's viewed at etc.
